"Having come here with my friend who lives in the town, on a night where everywhere else seemed to be full, for a Friday night it was quiet, my friend had told me that while the takeaway was awful and was to be avoided, the food in the main hotel was better so I ordered the Chicken curry, it was a overly spicy bowl of rubber chicken and veg which was near enough burnt with rice that you could tell had been in a rice cooker all day, my friend however got the chicken and haggis and said it was wonderful, not sure whither it is the Chinese side of the menu which needs to be avoided or what, however it is clearly not a pleasant place to work we were sat on a table in the corner by the window fairly close to the entrance to the kitchen and from there we could hear the shouts of what we could only imagine as being the chef, was insane how when the young staff, when we were there it was a young girl and a man in his 20s they would both run in as if it was the 100m sprint followed by more shouting, however the manageress was no better appeared to be rather rude as when I caught her walking past and made 'the gesture for the bill ' she continued to walk to the bar. I had to walk to the bar and ask the barmaid for the bill as after that she was no where to be seen, safe to say we did not stay for anymore drinks."

As the title says we are lucky to have such a hotel locally with.the mixture of British and Chinese food cooked to a high standard.The staff are friendly and efficient and Helen is a one off..

Having booked into another hotel for the night I decided to eat here. A very good choice with the option of different types of food. I had the spring rolls and then haddock and chips together with a couple of pints.

We ended up going to the chippy and eating in the car as the restaurant and hotel seemed very shut. Innerleithen is nice but places to eat are at a premium, an Indian restaurant a few doors away and the Traquair Arms best to book.

Went to the Corner House Hotel for a celebration with my friends . We had starters ,main meals and sweets and it was very well priced. The best thing is you can have British food or Chinese on the menu. Patrick ,Linda and Nichola run there hotel with passion and quality. Would recommend it to anyone!

Booked at short notice on Saturday night. Nice, clean and very friendly restaurant. Menu is half Scottish fayre, half Chinese and is pretty unique. Had good spare ribs and an excellent crispy beef. Wife's chicken fried rice was good and the portion was huge. Daughter fish goujons were fine. Staff fussed over all the children and were really welcoming. Nice desserts too.

Only gave 2nd star as the staff were lovley but the food was not. Kids liked theirs but kids will eat most things. Fish was bland and tasteless...tasted frozen...the chips were awful there was zero taste to them and just beyond bland. My husbands sauce was meant to be pepercorn was more cheese there was zero peppercorn taste. Not good at all and for the price too was awful. Will not be back!

Lovely. Little family owned hotel in centre of town Good size room with ensuite shower. Very clean, warm with very good coffee and tea and cookies. Breakfast were excellent and the restaurant offers wide range of evening meals. Owners and staff are superb, cheery and very very helpful. Would have liked more shower pressure but was lovely Good secure car parking Hope to revisit Highly recommend Thanks Alan

They went above and beyond, we turned up late at 11.30pm due to flooding and roads being closed and Patrick stayed awake to let us in and then even offered us food (although we didn’t accept! Lovely bedroom, everything you need. Even tasty biscuits. Maybe bring a fire stick as TV only has basic channels. It was my partners birthday and they did everything they could to make it special. Even a candlelit breakfast. Super close for mountain biking so we will definitely stay here again. Right in the centre of town so 10/10 location. Thanks very much for the great weekend.

Myself and 2 friends, had the great pleasure of staying at the Corner House for 1 night, while on a bike ride to Edinburgh. We received a very warm welcome on our arrival. The rooms were extremely comfortable, modern and clean. We had a delicious meal and a few good beers. The breakfast was excellent too. The main reason why our stay was so good, was without doubt, the staff. Every single person was extremely polite, cheerful and helpful. I was getting sponsored on my ride, for a local charity and one of the staff , Linda, very kindly wavered my room bill £37.50) and donated it to the charity, I couldn 't believe her generosity. We even had a few of the staff, wave us off , as we set off ove...
