"We just spent a week in/around Bavaria. At the end of our trip, we wanted to stay close to the airport to make it easy to catch our morning flight. Instead of opting to go back to the Augustiner Braustuben (as a friend recommended), near Munich City Center to brave the Christmas market crowd, we found Gasthof Wanderer on TripAdvisor. The location is not far from the airport and in a (safe) residential area -- do not be discouraged!Even though we showed up late on a Sunday night (8:40pm), the hostess was very gracious and led us to a table after verifying with the chef. Wow! Absolutely no regrets about our choice!! We wanted traditional Bavarian dishes. I expected brats & potatoes. Instead, we got roast duck on purple cabbage with potato dumplings & pork knuckle wrapped in bacon on a bed of schpatzl. It was delicious!! The duck was crispy outside and not greasy inside. The orange sauce, "very Christmas" the server advised, was a great compliment to the duck and dumpling. The pork was tender and the spatzle was flavorful with the right balance between sauce & cheese.For dessert, we had warm chocolate cake with lemon sorbet & mixed berries. It wasn't too sweet. No one flavor overpowered the others. It was a clean, simple end to a great meal. Downed a bottle of red wine (Cotes-du-Rhone) over the course of our meal. The hostess was beyond gracious even though we (and another table lingered) were the last to leave. Highly recommend if you've got time near Munich airport. It won't disappoint!"

"Went here based on other TA reviews and were not disappointed. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, food was the best Greek food we tasted in quite a while. Prices reasonable. Be advised that there is no parking near the restaurant itself, it's in a...residential street with no public parking so you have to leave your car on the main road and walk from there. No credit cards accepted, only cash or German EC card."

"I'm always here with my workmate, and yesterday I could finally bring my family. the crossed is a real Bavarian house with a real original as wet. the services are friendly, fast and helpful. there is still the obligatory block or the brain to use, an electronic ordering system has gotten here thanks to no one yet.The eating is excellent, the portions more than lush. especially the ochs with a fantastic paprika rabble has done it to me to find one of the famous kartoffel dumplings - a poem.My wife has eaten self-made noodles with a stone mushroom filling, even these were a dream.If you don't get that you can also get without problems packaging material to take the rest with your home.I always like to come here again."

"We stayed there on Valentine's Day (issued without reservation). My experiences were mixed there. I think the Ristorante was clean. However, I found the paper napkins not only romantic. The store was full and both the order and the food went relatively fast. We had all four pizzas. I wanted to have extra (what was then calculated) olives on it. These were forgotten. Can happen. The waiter we drew attention to, I didn't think about it. The boss came in and brought me a plate of olives. They were cold. Have no taste on the pizza. The extra mushrooms I wanted on it weren't even visible. Both had my mother unintentionally on her pizza. All in all pizzas were also very small, but had the price of a normal pizza. Comment from the boss: This is the case with us. It was a strange experience."

"Ich war schon öfters da. Hauptsächlich habe ich Tagliatelle mit Trüffel im Parmesanlaib geschwenkt gegessen. Jedesmal ein Gedicht! Diesmal stand auf der Karte Tagliatelle mit Trüffel in Sahnesoße. Es wurde uns versichert, daß die Nudeln in der Küche im Laib geschwenkt werden. Dies war mit Sicherheit nicht der Fall denn von Parmesan war nichts zu spüren. Die Nudeln waren nicht schlecht, aber ein ganzes Stück entfernt vom Geschmack her. Dann musste man immer 2mal Bescheid geben, um was zu bekommen. Wenn es nicht eine Ausnahme war, dann hat die Qualität und der Service dieses Restaurant sehr nachgelassen."
