We were disappointed with the food, it tasted like poor quality indian food and there was very little meat and the dishes.

Excellent food and very good service. Very friendly environment would highly recommend it to friends and plan to return myself soon.

Good food but mains came too quick after starters had finished. Service is friendly but could have been more on the ball especially as the restaurant was not busy.

I went along for my 24th birthday celebrations to the Elephant Walk. The customers were polite and helpful with recommendations. It was great value for money and also a different choice from the usual Indian food. Would highly recommend!

Well after we had finished our starters and were waiting for the mains, we were informed that the main course we ordered was not available. I would recommend it for the food only if you have the patience to put up with the service.

On a Monday night, you might find that you'll get the whole place to yourself. It was the perfect way to celebrate my husband's b-day. The service was great and the food was spectacular. I enjoyed the variety of vegetarian dishes while my husband appreciated the wide selection of meat dishes. There's something for everyone's taste here.

Elephant Walk, West Hampstead, London: The food is good, if a bit too salty, and you should like coconut if you go...it's in everything. The starters were hit and miss, all seemed too similar although they were tasty. The mains were good. We stuck with traditional Sri Lanken dishes, skipping things we get in Indian restaurants. The Sri Lankan breads and rice dishes were excellent. The curries were tasty but could have used less sauce and more substance. The service was slow but pleasant.

I had booked Elephant Walk for a meal for ten on a Thursday evening. We turned up to find the door barred. When someone did come to the door they said that they couldn't serve us because something that happened meant they had no cutlery or drinks(!? . I then had to find an alternative restaurant who could deal with a walk-in group of 10. I found it appalling that (given they had my email and mobile number , they hadn't informed me they couldn't honour my booking. I would not go there again.

After viewing their website, it seemed obvious to give this restaurant a go. However if you 're looking for authentic sri lankan food, please stay away from this restaurant. Of course you will not get real Sri lankan food in the UK, but one would expect sth similar to it if you 're going to spend a considerable amount of money. I have been to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks this year, thus I know what to expect to a certain degree. The chicken kothu tastes like an ordinary biryani, the lampris is extremely dry (usually very moist) and the service was not reflecting the price on the menu. Overall, this restaurant has made a very poor effort to call itself a sri lanka restaurant. I 'm shocked/bamboozled...
