"Lots of options for food, limited options for cocktails. Food was delicious and the service was good, if not a bit slow at times. We would definitely visit again! I had the pumpkin katsu, it was absolutely incredible. Restaurant is clean and well spaced out. Low lighting inside which made it more comfortable. Chopsticks only so if you can't use them then beware!"

"Very good experience on a busy Saturday night. This place can seat about 40 and it was full. Nevertheless, service was quick and the food came at a decent speed. The food is the star here. We had 3 different dishes and all we well cooked, excellently spiced and very tasty. Portions were large as well, with plenty of food on the plate. Some free bread with olives to start as well as a mini Turkish pizza each just added to the evening. We had a dessert as well. Typical Turkish sweets, full of syrup and very well made. The baklava was one of the best we've ever had. Prices for what we had were reasonable as well, coming in at just below £28 per head. We didn't have any alcohol, so if you do, you can expect a significant increase. The owners were friendly and did not bother us too much, leaving us to enjoy our food. You really must book at this place. I saw 3 different couples turned away as they did not have a booking. Good food, reasonably priced in a nice environment with good service. Very highly recommended."

"Staff seem quite lazy, like they don't want to be there. Assume chef has changed in the last year or two as food not as good as it used to be. My wife witnessed a member of staff using a broom to sweep the coffee station counter down and then use the same broom on the floor. I didn't use the toilets but my wife said the ladies were dirty and no toilet roll in one of the cubicles, which tells me they're not attended regularly."

"Stopped into the Skylark on our first morning in Eastbourne. My husband got the Avocado toast with a side of bacon, and I got the muesli (which was strawberries, bananas and raspberries that morning). Two strong cappuccinos to go with it and our best breakfast in Britain, by far!!! Came back the next day and the friendly waitress remembered our order exactly. Great place!"

"Was turned down whilst I was with my children, they said first they were fully booked and later changed the story saying they didn’t have a table of 5. Tonight I thought I’ll go on my own before 9pm. The owner send the waiter to tell that the restaurant was closed, when I went to question the owner, he shouted saying this is my house. Quite embarrassing to act in such way. He doesn’t know that his friends recommended him as we like to try new restaurants. Anyway it was a very bad experience and poor approach from the owner. Avoid it at all cost never turn customer down, there a polite way to deal with is"
