"Since living in the UK, there's been a constant mantra that I've heard: If you want good Fish and Chips you have to go to the North. (To be fair, it's made mostly by Northerners. Since we were in Blackpool for the weekend, I decided Fish and Chips was a definite requirement, and since the majority of restaurants in Blackpool were absolutely frightening looking from the outside, we went to Harry Ramsden's. It's a fairly big restaurant, so it was quite easy to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and get a table. The service is great, as they woman seating us gave us a large table so that we could put all of our stuff (including a trombone in the seating next to us. And since we were only two, it was especially nice of her to use that much space for us. We both had fish and chips, because that's what you should have at a fish and chips restaurant. Now to be fair, it was a little bit better than our local place back in Enfield. The fish was well cooked and had a crispy, tasty batter. The chips weren't soggy. The mushy peas were fairly average. There wasn't enough tartare sauce for my liking, and I'm sure I could have asked for more, but the service wasn't that attentive. So good Fish and Chips but hardly the best (that is still reserved for a place in Cornwall . I think I'm still on the lookout for that perfectly amazing Fish and Chips in the UK."

I have visited many restaurants in Blackpool, but this place has the best fish and service. I will definitely be returning for more delicious fish.

This place is nice with ocean views. The food was good except for the chips. They weren't very good . As if they had been sitting under a heater for awhile . The waitress was awesome , she was polish

I tried ordering the "twice cooked chip" for an additional £2.50, but it was a rip-off. This was the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The quality used to be great 20 years ago, but now it is not worth the money.

A visit to Blackpool feels like a step back in time to the 1950s. Everything seems old and gray, from the children playing on the beach to the hotels. The one shining exception is Harry Ramsden's fish and chips. I can only describe them as brilliant. Opt for the cod over haddock and let the taste transport you back in time, melting away the years of Blackpool.

We've not lived in the UK long enough to better qualify our opinions, but our lunch at Harry Ramsden's was the best fish-and-chips we have enjoyed yet. The fish was perfectly done and the batter crispy yet not greasy. The chips were fine, although perhaps portion size could have been a little more. Service was attentive and pleasant. We'll look forward to more of this tastiness on a future visit back to Blackpool.

I tripped out here....in a corner of UK right by the water that feels kind of....forgotten. But we came here to see the site of the famous ballroom competitions. Both got large orders of their fish/chips, because who said that Brits don't have any kind of cuisine at all?! It was great! One of these memories and meals to remember, y'know? Even early-onset dementia ain't gonna shake the tucked-away golden memory of fun times here Ramsdens. Solid fish/chips. Very, very good.

Amazing service given by Joel at Harry Ramsden in Backpool, booked an afternoon tea for 2 through Wowcher not realising the 48hours notice which needed to be given before being able to attend. I called the store to inform them of my mistake as this was a gift for family who were in Blackpool on holiday, (they're leaving before the voucher was redeemable), Leon was incredibly helpful on the phone and helped arrange the surprise afternoon tea to go ahead. Thank you so much for your amazing service and allowing the afternoon tea to go ahead!

This is a large branch of Harry Ramsden's and it's very handy, right on the prom and not far from the Tower. They have a take out section and also a proper sit down restaurant. I do like the quality, but sadly I find this particular branch to be quite badly run. The place is always busy, but they have a whole section out the back that they usually keep closed. I've known people queueing for ages to get in and there's very little space to queue in! I've seen people waiting outside in the pouring rain on the Prom and they still won't open the area at the back! I don't know why they even bother to have that area if they're never going to use it why pay the extra rent?! There's plenty of fish an...

When it comes to the British staple that is fish'n'chips, nobody does it better than the World Famous Harry Ramsden's. I was in the UK's most famous seaside town, Blackpool, and when you're by the seaside and hungry one meal comes to mind; fish and chips. Being a seaside town, Blackpool obviously has hundreds of options for this meal but several people had recommended Harry's to me so of course I had to try it to see what all the fuss was about. The restaurant is right on the seafront and the decor is quintessential early 20th century. It makes you feel like you're on the set of Boardwalk Empire or pre-WW2 Britain. Combined with the great sea views, it's the nostalgic seaside experience you...

"Beautiful welcoming and welcoming, and fantastic food, cooked for perfection. This restaurant because of fantastic reviews. I am currently on a restricted diet and could not see what is obvious on the menu for me, but since the restrictions make food a bit boring for me anyway, I thought my family can also enjoy some leaks even if I could 't. I email in advance to double check, they could take me and it would be something I could eat, and they were very positive and ready to inform me that they cook everything to order so that everything could be omitted according to my needs. The person I had received via e-mail came specifically to take our food order and help me find something out of the menu, made various suggestions to make it more interesting, and even had the name of the diet that I "m on and been out to buy vegan mayonnaise especially for me. They gave me extras of things I could do for pieces I couldn't. When my food came, it was exquisitely cooked and managed to be really tasty, despite me not allowed, many things you normally use to supplement taste! My husband and my parents were absolutely enthusiastic about their starters and main thing and said things like "it was worth coming to Blackpool so we could eat here" (it is about a 6 hour drive for us). We were too full for dessert so that I'd comment that, but with friendly, helpful and courteous staff, and freshly cooked delicious food, I'd recommend thoroughly!!!"
