"I wish that I had had my phone with me to of taken photos I was staying in Eastleigh for Christmas. I am no fan of Eastleigh. . Had nipped out to go for a jog but instead nipped in for a bite to eat. At my regular gurkka in Hampshire I've ordered the starter Tikka Paneer with mushroom rice and loved it. Their starter Tikka Paneer full of flavours and was generous in portion with more than 4 pieces at similar price to the Great Moghul. Including was the mushroom rice. Sliced mushrooms, sliced spring onions and pease. Full of flavours. The flavour was none too heavy But here at the Great Moghul, I ordered the same. Tikka Panner starter with mushroom rice. Though eaten as was hungry and not eaten all day, the paneer had no taste. Looked red. The colour of tikka seasoning but lacked tikka taste. The paneer had been fried with some pieces over crispy. Also, only four pieces of paneer. The rice, was a very small portion with chunks of fresh mushrooms.I also ordered two poppadoms. I was expecting to receive them warm but they were cold. Whatever happened to the day when we would order a meal or a couple of starters that we would receive a complimentary warm poppadom?"

"I recently had a Sunday roast at this restaurant, which is now transitioning to The Brambridge Arms. The food was of good quality and the portion sizes were perfect. The front of house team was very helpful and attentive to the service they provided. There is also a great covered area at the rear of the pub for dining on a warm day. Overall, we had a fantastic visit and highly recommend this place. We will definitely be returning."

"So, I try a lot of Indian restraurants, especially in the Southampton area. This is now in my top 5, I'll definitely be going again. Popped in without a booking, table for two on a Tuesday evening. Staff really friendly and attentive, no problem not having a reservation during the week. I really like the decor, there are little circular bays affording some privacy if you fancy it which is lovely. We opted for an open table for two. Wow the food was exceptional. Lamb Rezalla starter and a Chicken 89 main and Bombay pots and onion bhajis. All came out in reasonable time and with a smile. Lamb Rezalla was phenomenal, best starter I've had anywhere, and the Chicken 89 was a delicious spicy goodness really really good. Downsides? None really. I felt a little rushed after we had finished, which we ignored and the mens toilet floor was very wet and slippery. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. If you're into your indian cuisine and want to try somewhere out of the way definitely give it a go."

"I went to Steamtown this evening, for possibly the sixth or seventh time, and every time it has been lovely, but a friend has just suggested that I send a review: I’m not a particularly TripAdvisor review person, but in this instance, I think it’s worth it. You’ve got a beautiful brewery and pub, with an interesting and original decor, which serves its own beers and many others, but much more beyond that, and I think it has captivated people from all kinds of backgrounds in the area. Aside from the lovely beers that they produce , they do really good food, but beyond that, you have fabulous, attentive and warm service: you ask for a slight change to the food, and that change you get, and it is done with a smile, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world to do : it is for them, I think they enjoy serving people. Good beer, good food, great atmosphere, human warmth: surely the epitome of what we like."

"We had the upstairs function room for our family occasion, our Golden Wedding anniversary. Thirteen of us. We were given the opportunity of pre-ordering, so we did. Plenty of choice. The room was just perfect, tables set out so that we could all chat. Staff were very friendly, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, compliments to the Chef. (We all had different). Although there were quite a few of us, we all had our food at the same time. So Good Companions, thank you for making our family occasion a fantastic one. We will be back for sure"
