"there are a few options for vegans and some others for vegetarians. I was there for lunch and I had the homemade sourdough bread with olive, the delicious winter stew (puy lenses, butternut squash and sweet potatoes) and vegan ice cream to finish. they also serve a mushroom risotto (which can be adapted for vegans), a spicy cherry and tomato leaves with tender broccoli, gnocchi with tomato and basilikum and vegan chocolate parpagei with celberry sorbet. the service was excellent."

The Brasserie offers a delicious French-style menu. The confit duck cassoulet was especially enjoyable, as was the Coley dish. The service was excellent.

Had a lovely dinner. Service was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. They even amended a desert for us to not have alcohol in it. Overall a must visit.

Service Very good. Friendly staff. Drinks Good selection. Food Tasty but steak was overcooked. I had the sharing steak which was descent size for 1 (male/average appetite) but would be disappointing if actually shared. Environment Comfortable if a bit cramped and noisey. Standard steakhouse/brasserie vibes.

The staff were very knowledgeable and the exact mix helpful but not overbearing. Our food was beautiful ribeye steak and coley..we had bread to start. Best tapanade I have tasted. Finally finished with expresso martini. Not a place we have been before but hopefully we'll be back soon. Thanks for a lovely wedding anniversary.

The service at this restaurant was outstanding and the menu options were fantastic. There were four of us dining together, and we decided to share two starters before each selecting a main from the £12 lunch menu. We also enjoyed three desserts, wine, and coffee. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced considering the restaurant's location in the city center.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
