"We frequent a lot with our toddler and baby. However today we went and were immediately greeted with 'takeaway only ' which was fine but when we said ok the waitress audibly sighed and stalked off. We get it was the end of a long day but we are polite and arrived well before closing time. We ordered two coffees to go some cake and some water. Ordinary latte, oat milk cappuccino with no chocolate (baby has a dairy allergy). Coffee and cake practically thrown at us outside and we were told ordinary cappuccino with chocolate , oat milk latte. Again, it was late in the day, benefit of the doubt we didn 't correct out of being overly polite. It was only by the end of the cappinchio that we suspected that it was oat milk and the late was made with ordinary milk. Were some distance away by the time this occurred and we didn 't want to go back when we were made to feel unwelcome and I 'm sure we would have got short shrift being too close to closing time. Now we have a baby with an upset stomach. If we were listened to this would not have happened. If you or little ones have an allergy be very careful and do not take what you are told on trust. If you want to close early, close early. Rather than treat customers with contempt for being to close to closing time"

My husband and I had brunch here, but never again. Very expensive. Long wait. Greasy food. The coffee was good though.

We pre-booked to come on a Sunday for a family Brunch, was definitely worth booking ahead because this place is so popular (and rightly so! Lots of tasty choices on offer, great cakes and milkshakes too! Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely cakes at a garden centre event today but the manager? (dark hair) was very rude and abrupt. Completely unnecessary and made me feel awful. Reading the other reviews online it's clear they don't aim to get repeat customers!

Visited today for lunch and were very disappointed, dry bread, burnt toast, poor service and dirty highchairs. As a returning customer, today did not live up to expectations and this place has seriously gone down hill since our last visit wish we had spent our money elsewhere! Visualizza piatti

Having planned to go for brunch for the first time without our little one we were hoping it would be a lovely experience. Sadly, homemade did not live up to the expectations their Instagram portrays. Drinks were luke warm at best, the garlic mushrooms on sourdough were more like a garlic mushroom soup on soggy bread and the squash and feta quesedilla was dull. We won't be visiting again.

I’ve been to Homemade about 4 times now always wanting to give my money to a local business but every time I have been disappointed with the food and drink. The cakes are dry and the drinks are ridiculously expensive. I’m always made to feel like I’m standing in the wrong place whilst ordering and waiting for my order. Shame I didn’t take my own advice earlier and stop elsewhere for coffee and cake.

Visited randomly for breakfast. Breakfast sandwich was ok at best sausage and bacon not that nice (ingredients issue rather than chef) and the ciabatta was so tough it couldn’t be eaten as a sandwich. Seemed to be an issue asking for things that were on the menu but separately (asked for smashed avocado on toast with an egg) I presume the dark haired lady is the manager/owner and she made it difficult even though the lady serving was lovely. She stopped the server mid order and made everyone uncomfortable she wanted to see if we were being charged correctly apparently. Looking at other reviews it seems she has an attitude a lot of the time. Cake was nice but expensive and same for the drinks... Visualizza piatti

Planned a rare morning cafe trip opportunity with family before an appointment. The white lodge in the park seems closed but having walked all the way down to the main cafe in the pavilion the signs said the white lodge was open. So back up the hill we trudged only to be rudely told 'you shouldn 't be in here ' upon gingerly opening the door. This was even though absolutely no signage outside the lodge indicated this and we were following the instructions left at the pavilion cafe. Finally served in the garden as takeaway only to be handed a tea with milk that had separated as though it was gone off. When mentioning this no fresh tea was offered but we were still forced to pay for this drink...

Order grilled cheese sandwich and hot chocolate as post parkrun treat. Was warned they were busy on ordering, that was fair enough and to be expected. Waited not too long and my sandwich was brought over and was asked if i wanted any condiments. When the waitress brought back my ketchup i asked about my drink, she said it was on it's way. When i was two thirds of the way through my sandwich i went up to the counter to ask if i could have my drink. I was beckoned over by (assuming) the owner/manager as she said she couldn't hear me. I asked where my drink was as i had nearly finished my breakfast she rudely said they had all these orders to get through as everyone comes in at the same time. S...

"at the arrival we were very well welcomed and the service is very nice here, we were set immediately. our starters were great, but that's where it ended! this place had a new boil (cook), as confirmed by the waitress and oh it shows! that is. a scandal for this place. the main thing my wife was served, I would ask someone “have they ever heard of a “Slowed belly Pork”, not to crack sat up?” ... but a huge piece slowly cook grossly fat. the answer would be from anyone who is more important a cook, no! we were then told: "It is not intended to crack and in the did have the slimy fat" I liked one! for someone who has worked in the kitchen for a few years, I find this insulting. in addition, I ordered a filet steak, a beautiful rest of the meat, which should be cooked with carefree bread to be served rare medium “good made” ... the waitress to her loan replaced it... shocked... medium turned. not what I wanted! I also asked for a red wine jes to be served a gravy. without red wine taste! at this point they have to ask who is in the kitchen. it's criminal to have a new cook that doesn't fit the ability to cook dishes with such fantastic products from a brilliant metzger that I spend at least months! these courses can be cooked better at home tonight. credit to the waitresses as they have to pick up the pieces, the owner of porterhouse has to get a proper cook that knows how to cook properly because slowly boiled boils. with a plate of slim un-Rededed pork fat is not as it should be done and filet steak is rare to medium as it says! very disappointed"

"First time customer Many times I have driven to cleethorpes for gluten free curry sauce and today I was going to do the same, then my wife found the jolly fryer with a huge host of gluten free items including curry sauce The shop was easy to find and parking can be tricky but I managed to park outside. The shop was large and very clean ... like very clean! The staff looked clean presentable ...nothing worse than walking in to a food establishment and seeing someone who looks scruffy! The owner Mr jolly ill get on to him later really has put the effort in to this chippy and it shows The food .... I ordered 1 large gluten free sausage 1 large gluten free cod, gluten free curry sauce and chips The chips wasn't bad .. Nice crisp outer and soft inner they wasn't dripping with oil and nice and dry didn't stick to the box or paper... the only way the chips could be better if they was fried in dripping my personal choice The sausage was a standard chippy sausage not over cooked or dry and was decent The gluten free cod A nice crisp fish batter not to hard and not mushy, the fish was lightly battered and was perfect ... nothing worse than having fish caked in 4mm of batter. The curry sauce A very tasty gluten free curry sauce the viscosity was perfect and wasn't lumpy it was nice and smooth just like the other chippy I use in cleethorpes. Even if you don't have ceoliac disease or a gluten intolerance PLEASE TRY THE GLUTEN FREE CURRY SAUCE!!!! The owner aka... MR JOLLY You can tell he has put his heart in to this place and it shows a very clean and well equipped chippy that put the effort in so everyone can eat hear! Good attention to detail and he take pride in his work! This was the first time I have been to the jolly fryer and first impressions count, he is very welcoming and talks to everyone.. The negative I should have had haddock my own fault I asked for salt and vinegar and non was put on the wonderful lady must not have heard me Overall The food was piping hot even after a 10 minute drive to a less busy spot Mr jolly keep up the good customer service and the pride you take is brilliant A solid 9 out of 10 Will be returning and hopefully next time do a video food review for my channel"
