Iberica - Piatti

Food was delicious but portions were small. An inexperienced staff member made a mistake with the drinks but this was corrected quickly by a more senior member of staff.

28-May-23 Iberica: Visited for a Sunday lunch on a lovely warm day. The restaurant was very quiet so not much atmosphere unfortunately. The service was good and the food was delicious, so I'd happily return but would pick a busier time.

I had dinner with a friend yesterday night. We had the best time! The food was amazing well presented and delicious (the octupus and lamb are a must try). The service was incredible. A massive thank you to Giuseppe and Alexandra, you both were so attentive and polite a huge asset to the restaurant! We cannot wait to return

The food is very tasty and perfectly presented, but above all, the service is excellent. Silvio in particular was amazing and very carefully and patiently ran us through the menu in light of our dietary requirements, highlighting safe options and dishes to avoid. The only reason why this isn't a 5 star review is because we felt the dishes could have been bigger in size.

Having read some variable reviews, I was a bit worried about what we would experience. I need not have been, as we had an amazing time. Food was excellent (we had tapas only the octopus, hake, sweetbread and cured meats were particularly good) and the service was lovely quick, attentive, knowledgable and friendly. There were 6 of us. We ate till we were full to bursting and had plenty of wine to drink plus dessert, and it came to £64/head including service. We stopped for lunch, tapas and selection of Spanish wines and cider. Our host, Nacho, was more than fantastic. We love Spanish wine and tapas and have invested a lot of effort in Spanish wine education. We put ourselves in Nacho’s hands, and that was the right choice! He chose everything from cheeses, Jamon Iberico, several amazing tapas choices and wines we might not have chosen. All paired amazingly. He even selected a Spanish cider from Asturias, we aren’t cider drinkers, that paired amazingly with the local blue cheese selection. What an awful experience this week with Iberica at Canary Wharf. Table booked but taken so put at a ridiculously small table in the middle of the path way. Took ages for service to start not speaking proper English, glasses of wine below 150ml line, food too late, cold or not coming at all. Asked for bread multiple times, only getting four very small sizes and no repeat. Asking for a cheese platter, ending up with four slices of processed cheese (even the blue one) accompanied with more meat (we didn’t order). Ending with a glass of red, finally a full glass but couldn’t repeat since they ran out of stock. Instead offering an alternative which was good, but looking at the check I almost dies...

We visited on the spur of the moment, and the overall decor and ambience was fine. We ordered tapas, and the glass of rioja suggested by the waiter was very enjoyable. However we were both disappointed by the food. The padrón peppers tasted as they should, but were somehow limp. The aubergine sobrasada was bland. The actual mushrooms in the champiñones al jerez were very good, but the sauce was again bland and if I had closed my eyes I would not have a clue as to what I was tasting. As with the mushrooms, the mussels in the vermouth mussels were good but the sauce, which sounded really interesting, was in the event bland and unfortunately reminded us both of Heinz tomato soup from our childh...
