"we have been there twice since the new opening. both the lift and the rodelbahn are too far from the heart. the denkmalgschützte house was restored last year and looks very beautiful. in the historical part is the restaurant and a few rooms, the remaining rooms are also freshly renovated next to buildings, all accessible by a walk. so also the sauna and the playroom. the rooms are lovingly furnished and they have a lot of space at least our double room was very generous. in the restaurant there are very good food we even eat extra. here is freshly cooked and the very varied, so that for everyone what is there."

at the last beautiful weekend in autumn with the motorcycle in the black forest, and then looking late for a stay is sometimes not so easy. here we were very welcome and have received a little late for eating. clean rooms, a beautiful location and a good and sufficient eating are all that a motorcycle heart desires. we found this. the steak was excellently praised also the weekly fish shell, but fish is not the right one for motor cyclists, but looked very good on the neighboring plate.

"Very, very delicious food! We had burgers (vegetarian and not vegetarian) and they were very juicy and rich. The Pommes also very good. The ingredients are either homemade or regional. The owners and staff are very friendly and also like to take time for a short conversation. Therefore, we have been there again and are very happy to come back! (Reservation should be made before, however, since even with other very popular and spontaneous visits therefore difficult)"

"Next to the main square and with a view of St. Johannes der Täufer (St. John the Baptist) church, this restaurant is in a lovely setting especially when sat outside. Excellent choice of pizza etc and very efficient, friendly service. Our pizzas were huge with a good helping of topping - and although not the cheapest we had found on our holiday they were still good value.Drinks were an average price for the area. Would have got 5 stars but the only diet coke available was AfriCola - not very nice and expensive at 2.60 Euro for a 200ml bottle.On the plus side it's open most of the day so fitted in with our late (15.00) lunch perfectly."

"So unscheinbar es von außen wirkt, so himmlisch ist es innen! Ein schnuckliges und uriges Restaurant das es in sich hat! Angefangen vom Service: man kann nur ein großes Lob aussprechen. Die Gastgeber sind überaus freundlich! Wie oben schon erwähnt, ist es ziemlich urig, aber sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Auf den Leisten oben, stehen überall wunderschöne alte Dosen. Auch der Nebenraum finde ich persönlich echt toll! Da gibt es einen Billardtisch und auch dort sind überall alte Schilder aufgehängt und alte Dosen aufgestellt. Nun zum Essen: ich ziehe meinen Hut vor dem Koch! So lecker gegessen habe ich schon sehr lange nicht mehr! Das Fleisch ist auf den Punkt genau gebraten/gegrillt. Die Soßen sind himmlisch und dazu die selbstgemachten Spätzle...einfach ein Traum! Ja, für manche mag es teurer erscheinen. Aber: es ist jeden einzelnen Cent wert! Ich hatte das Rinderfilet, medium gebraten, an einer Champignon Cognac Soße mit den selbstgemachten Spätzle. Einfach perfekt! Und auch das 400g Rindersteak mit Fettrand (kann man auch ohne bestellen war der Wahnsinn! Wer mal wieder richtig richtig gut essen möchte, ist hier bestens aufgehoben! Achtung: Reservierung ist Pflicht, da immer voll ist ;"

"he is famous for his black forests. So I wanted to test if that's what the angel promises. there was plenty of space at the time of the coffee, although in deadnauberg much was going on. very friendly the service staff (2 ladies) was not someone tells me, but this is the black forests muffiness (naja, I am also so and did not know it so far). there were no more than black forests already. the torf was big and looked good. the floor was not too much soaked, but still too much for my conditions. I thought they looked too sweet up there. overall, the torte was good edible, but I wouldn't talk about high-nutrition. the coffee was good medium. for the torte overall there is a good offer like hotel or dinner I cannot judge. if the service had been a bit more friendly (or faster to pay) it could have been for 4 stars."

"Ehrliche Küche, ehrliche Preise, kein Schicki-Micky, keine Experimente. Kein Modebier, an der Bar die üblichen Spirituosen. Schweinefleisch kommt vom Metzger aus der Region, Rind aus Brasilien und nicht von den Billigfarmen aus Argentinien und auch nicht von den Hinterwäldern, die kaum noch bezahlbar sind. Mein Steak, rare medium bestellt, kam auf den Punkt so auf den Tisch wie ich es wollte, und die Pfefferrahmsosse wurde nach meinem Wunsch ergänzt. Pommes Frites klassisch französisch geschnitten (und nicht wie US-Countryfood lieblos zerstückelt) und aus frischem Öl geschöpft. Der Küchenchef nimmt Bestellungen bis 22:00 h an, das ist eher selten in dieser Region, dafür gab es den 4. Stern. Bei schönem Wetter kann auf dem Marktplatz unterhalb der prächtigen Kirche gegessen und getrunken werden. Die Einrichtung des Restaurants ist solide und stabil, sie hat schon 33 Jahre überstanden, und sollte selbst robuste Biker aushalten können. Service rasch und freundlich. Etwas internationales Dreilanddeutsch sollte noch gelernt werden. Ein Beispiel: Ein Radler ist in der Schweiz ein Panaché, im Saarland sagt man Panasch (von frz. panaché, „gemischt“)."
