"one of our first days in uzès, we were wandering on the main road looking for a good place for lunch. the menu of the providedl drew our attention and the friendly owner on the sidewalk convinced us to try. happy we did. The food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. it seems to be a family and popular establishment with the inhabitants. Of course, they were also very welcoming to tourists, but I am always happy to find a place that is not a tourist trap. We tried a salad, a slice of charcuterie, fried steaks and cod brandade, which is apparently a specialty of this region. It is a deliciously interesting concoction of potatoes and salted cod, with some parts of chorizo/pepperoni. It seemed a little strange but I'm so glad I tried it. It was absolutely delicious. I noticed that several other restaurants in the city serve him, and some even put him on a pizza. the version to the supplied was beautiful. The steak was also delicious. a note for Americans dining in france for the first time - they tend to serve their beef much more **** than we do in the United States, so if you ask it average, it will look more like medium-saignant. If it makes you disgust, be clear when you order and they will be happy to cook it according to your specifications. We chose rare medium, and it was certainly red inside! and delicious. We skipped dessert but took some good coffee. I would gladly go back and I would gladly recommend it to others."

"My wife was keen to try this local restaurant after reading many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We took the precaution of making a booking for the footpath, but most people who arrived during our visit had no booking: all were greeted warmly and accommodated outside. At first I thought the place was understaffed with just one wait-person for the whole place; but she received support from another woman and the proprietor, and, despite my initial misgivings, the service proved to be excellent. The menus came quickly, and we were allowed an appropriate period to make a choice. We both ordered a drink, which arrived promptly, along with the water we asked for. The bottle of wine we ordered arrived soon after. Speaking of which, the choice of wine is a fairly limited, no-nonsense vin du pays by the carafe sort of thing, with prices to match. Perfect for pizza. We chose something relatively fancy in a bottle, which was about 14 euro. We both went for pizza. It really was amazing. The pizza menu is the largest I've ever seen, and no pizza lover could fail to find something that suits their palate. Prices very reasonable, at around the $10-12 euro mark. The menu also includes a separate section that allows you to order a pizza with special mozzarella - either buffalo or burrata. My wife went for one of these. It was cooked with a tasty basil pesto and grated Parmesan drizzled with an excellent olive oil, then once cooked had shaved Parmesan added, along with some rocket leaves and the ball of buffalo mozzarella. We get fresh buffalo mozzarella in Australia. I don't know where it comes from, but it's expensive, has a fairly firm texture, and is a bit overrated. The product on Deb's pizza was magical: soft and creamy, so that she was able to break it up and spread chunks around on the pizza, which caused it to kind of melt a bit into the surface. I tasted it: fantastic.I chose a standard menu item of Peche, which used a tomato base with an excellent tinned tuna, whole anchovies, capers and mozzarella. It was delicious. Like most people we've eaten our share of pizza over the years, and this one was notable for flavour, texture and balance. In particular, the base was superlative: wood-fired, it was a little crispy and blackened at the edges, but despite being quite thin, was firm enough to pick up and (with folding) support the toppings. If I could get away with it I'd be back at Pizza du Duche every night between now and when we leave. If you like pizza, don't miss this place."
