La Bella Vita - Menu

The service was terrible. We were overcharged, assuming we wouldn't notice. The sandwiches were bland. The staff does not wash their hands or wear gloves.

Visited the restaurant for lunch and it was up to the usual standard. The lunch set menu remains great value for money and the quality of the food was very good. We were the only people there as not sure if people know that it's open again.

Had lunch there today with a friend and it was fabulous. We chose from the lunch menu which had a nice selection at an excellent price. The service was good, nice table with a proper white cloth and nice crockery and cutlery. If it wasn't so far away fom my house, I live 75 miles away, I'd be a regular!

La Bellavita has been a favourite for many years, do t live so close these days so forget how good it still is. Our lunch today was absolutely excellent, food. Beautifully cooked , the menu is varied and interesting would recommend d anyone who has not tried Bellavita to give it a go, no ready meals just well cooked, fresh food, service as usual excellent, thank you

We were extremely let down when we visited the restaurant, as the website displayed a full a la carte menu. However, upon arrival, we were only presented with a very limited set menu by a waiter who struggled with English and lacked proper serving skills. Although the food that was available was of good quality, there were very few options on the menu, including only a few specials. It is disappointing to note that we used to be regular customers, but will not be returning after this experience.

Visited for lunch with family and friends. Wide choice of starters and mains. The service is old fashioned and excellent with, usually silver service currently curtailed due to social distancing. The starters were excellent. I had the calamari and, to be honest , I could have walked out content after that. The lamb cutlets were divine and the veg superb. My guests, two Canadians, were awed with both the food and service. OK it costs a bit more than Weatherspoons but the food is on a totally different level.

I was due to stay 4 nights booked though work. On arrival the place looked OK. I was told by the manager the room was for only 3 nights no worries will sort that out with work. I was told my room was upstairs. The place smelt damp with rubbish on the stairs and outside my room. The room is very dated a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. Electrical cables exposed taped up in the bathroom,very soft bed,very old air-conditioning unit which doesn't work unless you want cold air. NO HEATING? Would not recommend this place to sleep. Didn't try the restaurant. Was moved the next day to the Hilton Hotel.

Having dined at every restaurant in Hitchin I rate the Bella Vita as Number 1. The food is exquisite and the service impeccable. We dined there last Saturday and Giorgio the Host was charming, most welcoming and very amusing. Where else will you enjoy the civilized charm of table cloths, and personal service from the Owner. My Partner is Vegetarian/Pescetarian and she was delighted with the choices and with the quality of the meal she chose. My fillet was about the best I have ever been served and the vegetables were perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. Together with an excellent bottle of wine and the bill was very reasonable. We decided to dine at this restaurant during our overnight stay, hoping for a special experience for our anniversary. We spoke with a girl named Pria on the phone who assured us to leave it to her. Unfortunately, there was no special treatment, not even a balloon. The owner suggested the fillet steak and apologized for a leak in our bedroom, hinting at compensation for the inconvenience. However, we received no compensation and the meal was overpriced and incorrect. The fillet steak was £28 and the vegetables were an additional £4 (cooked to order). The sirloin steak was £21 and the vegetables were another £4 (not cooked to order) and overdone. No one checked if our meal was satisfactory. It...
