"My friend and I shared 5 dishes between us and had a glass of wine each, the bill was £56 so is very reasonably priced overall. For me the prawns were far too expensive, £11 for four not very big prawns that were not very exciting is too much. The food was very average, the bread and anchovy butter was a waste of money. The bread was just a few bits of supermarket ciabatta with butter you could make better at home. The aubergine dish was nice, I would say the best thing we ordered. The service was below par, food was quick but there was no rapport with the waitress and she almost looked bored and annoyed to take our order. The place looks nice but is the worst tapas I have had in Manchester. I can’t say anything was horrible because it wasn’t, it was just so so average. I won’t be returning, which is a shame."

The food was excellent, the service was exceptional. The waiter was very attentive. We arrived early and were seated straightaway. They brought the food quickly, it was beautifully presented and very tasty.

My partner and I visited the restaurant on Saturday and we had a wonderful meal in a pleasant atmosphere. We would like to give a big thank you to our lovely server (the young lady with red hair) who made our anniversary very special, even though we didn't catch her name.

This used to be one of the best tapas places in Manchester. What has happened? Menu is dreadful. Ordered the lemon chicken main for it to come like a deep fried chippy chicken. Portions extremely small paid over £5 for 4 mushrooms on a cube of toast. Restaurant has heaters on but it is absolutely freezing. Best thing we ordered was the fries. Definitely dodge this place it has taken a serious nose dive.

Our first visit to La Vina was a disappointing one. We were asked to wait at the bar until our table was ready, but ended up waiting for a long time. Despite seeing our table empty, no one came to seat us. Eventually, my husband had to ask the staff if we could sit down. We waited at our table for a waitress to take our drink and food order, but no one seemed interested in serving us. Three staff members stood at the desk chatting instead. In the end, we decided to leave. I explained to the staff why we were leaving, but they didn't seem to care. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Had visited last year and had a great experience. Sadly this year it was marred by a very unpleasant young lady who when asked 1 if we had to order drinks at the bar said No ! Then when we had decided she 2 brought the wrong drink despite being told what we wanted and 3 when told the order was incorrect said Hell picked up the glasses and took them No apologies or even general polite interaction. However the experience picked up when the gentleman who was serving took over. Altogether a much more pleasant interaction. So very disappointed as we had booked to eat but cancelled and went elsewhere

This restaurant used to be known for its excellent tapas, but not anymore. I went with a friend as a special treat before a concert and we ordered 6 tapas, 1 small glass of wine, and 1 sangria... all for a total of £74!! We couldn't even finish half of it. The food was disgusting – the prawns were drowning in garlic, which I could still taste 4 hours later. The patatas bravas seemed to have been cooked in old, rancid oil. The calamari was chewy and greasy. The sangria tasted like carbonated dishwater. When the waiter asked if we enjoyed our meal (even though the leftover food and drinks already provided the answer), I honestly told him we hadn't, but no discount or apology was offered. Save...

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
