This restaurant is well worth a visit, the food is amazing value and the wine is also good. It's hard to find a better restaurant in this area for the value. The serve was also good! Try it !!

We were hunting for a place to eat and found this gem. It was just so good. Nice attentive staff who were pleasant throughout. It makes such a difference. The food was great. Stupidly, I ordered steak, and French beef is notoriously bad - mine was dreadful. However everybody else at my table (there were 11 of us) ate well, and the atmosphere was pleasant and the overall food good. The waitress treated us to a lecture about how good French food is - why do they think that? She even announced that in England we eat eel with mint sauce !!!! Bless.

Visited for dinner with 2 friends visiting from the UK. Prompt and friendly service and our waitress was very patient as we ordered in very bad French trying to explain one of us had food intolerance to certain things. They adapted the dishes for her well and we had a fabulous meal. The fillet steak cut like butter! This is a very nice Brasserie with a very good quality/price rapport.

This restaurant has a pleasant patio area and as it was a warm evening we chose a table outside. The menu was not extensive but I had no difficulty in finding something. My starter was a gratin dish of leeks and scallops which was extremely good followed by a seafood brochette. The cooking was adequate but certainly not exceptional and the service was very good. With a small carafe of wine the bill came to 46 euros which I thought was good value overall.

We were staying in the neighborhood and the convenience seduced us to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Fairly priced and nicely prepared our dinner was more than acceptable. A modern , casual interior with traditional fare with an attentive patron was joined by a non pretentious service. The entrée of escargots gratiné was tasty as was the main dish salad perigourdine. My dessert sabayon with fruit was a highlight. I would definitely reccommend a visit here.

Called in on way back to Cognac, from day at the coast. Given a warm welcome by enthusiastic staff, and enjoyed an excellent "Menu du Jour" meal. I enjoyed a succulent lamb shank with a selection of vegetables and potatoes and my partner opted for Beef - an unusual choice, however, she thoroughly enjoyed. The desserts were marvellous and the wine list good and not expensive. Great service by warm affable people. A really enjoyable experience, - One that we will re visit when next in Saintes.

Having enjoyed lunch at this restaurant I had been wanting to visit for an evening meal for some time, but as we run a Chambres D'Hotes in Saintes evenings out are rare! The menu had a good choice of starters, mains and desserts, the option being for 2 or 3 courses. As with our previous visit the food was really very good. My partners steak 'cut like butter' and my braised lamb shank was moist and tender. We opted for desserts also this time and they did not disappoint. A very nice brasserie with a lovely terrace under the Tilliul (Linden) tree.

We wanted to try this Brasserie since it changed ownership, as we live on the same side of The Charente River and it is good to support restaurants on this side of town which might otherwise be overlooked. We enjoyed a superb lunch, correctly priced. We both opted for Salad de Landais for starters...I chose the Fillet de Bar for main and my partner had the Confit de Canard. All dishes were beautifully presented (My fish was delicious and cooked to perfection) and served with a duo of purees and vegetables and delicious sauces. The service was friendly and efficient.
