Maiglückchen - Piatti

I was there with a customer. the gutter, a jumproll with deer meat was very delicious. for the first I had ramen (nudel soup) with srimps. it wasn't good seasoned. all together not bad, but for me quite average.

Went with colleagues from Hamburg office for dinner. Fish was exceptional in quality taste and presentation. Waitress was pleasant and absolutely wonderful. They were greatly accommodating although we did not have a reservation!

Sushi quality is amazing and nicely served. we made a reservation, but they did not note the name well. anyway we got a table, service is pretty „tipycal asian“, but the girl who served was really helpful. food is amazing, place is cozy and nicely...located. i live the sushi there! paid 75 for two and we ate starter, had a big plate (20pcs each) and some beer. We choose this restaurant , very small, in the hafen city without an info on the quality. We choose 2 bentos box called special to eat with 2 bitter tonic all for 32 euros per my wife and i. From the sashimi, to the california...rolls and to sushi with salmon and tuna, all was perfect better than in many posh japonese. Surprising. I forfet too the Miso soup at the top too.

the food was good, and that was good. but the service is a catastrophe to be honest. not only is it slow, the people seemed to forget the things regularly. I asked for water that my dog never came. I asked for a pencil. my neighbour called after 15 minutes waiting that he would like to get menu if it did not ask too much. I waited to be served, was ignored when I wanted to pay and so on, and I was there at 18 o'clock, it wasn't even half full. so, I guess if they have a lot of tome and geduld, I can really recommend this place.

After visiting several of the sites in Hafencity, hunger overtook us all and it was time to find some good eats. My daughter is a big sushi fan so we decided on MaiGlückchen. Along with the sushi, there were the usual meals. I decided on...the black pepper beef for lunch since it included soup or salad. I was not disappointed. The beef was liquid tender. This along with a flavorful sauce satisfied my aching hunger very nicely. This was all made better with the lower cost lunch menu. We've been here once but we can't seem to forget the food and ambience of this small but authentic Japanese restaurant. A restaurant hiding in the shelters of Hafen-City. The courteous service, the homey feeling, the intricate presentation, the flavorful taste of each dish not...replicating another one always makes you want to return. Great for family and couples. You can dine outside during the late Spring to Summer time. The prices of each dish is quite reasonable. The best thing is, you don't need so much time to choose from the selection. Can't wait to return to this restaurant.

We went to Maigluckchen on our first night in Hamburg. It's quite a small place, well visited and still not an issue to pop in without a reservation. The menu was rather short but still some nice selection of Asian food and sushi on offer....Starters were great with both of us having a soup, the main courses were good as well, I'd only have expected something else than the ordinary fish used for sushi in my fish soup (seems even already pre-cut), especially since the menu said it was made from the catch of the day and surimi in a fish soup is a no-go for me. Service was quick and friendly.

the reservation was not really necessary, restaurant was almost empty on a Thursday night. because for sushi, only after I ordered a drink and some edamame I was told that they are not available here sushi on Thursday. edamame was good, drinking was still full. So I bite the ball and ordered some dumplings and an early roll. knödel came almost cold and dry on the outside, early roll was okay. the waitress was kind. atmosphere in the empty restaurant besides nothing, just entertaining a group of loud Chinese who were very loud when they drank shooter “uuuh, oughh” and who all the time in their training clothes to have a smoke.
