"we had the first taste of Thursday's curry night and I must say that it was so good that we make it to our later date night! poppadome and chutneys, followed by their choice of starter, a choice of curry (meat or sweet) with rice, naan and chips for less than £15 is a fantastic offer for everyone. the quality, quantity and presentation were better than some restaurants I had and paid twice the price! we see each other in two weeks and I can't expect it!"

Had afternoon tea . Great assessment of sandwiches, cakes, small pork pies and sausage rolls. Lovely pot if tea too. Friendly service. Highly recommend you try it .

Really very well prepared presented fresh food here..would recommend this place for excellent location superb beer garden and the little touches of flair used in the kitchen to exceed most people's expectations of pub food..

Just returned from a fabulous meal for a friends leaving do. There were 28 of us bit nothing was too much trouble. The food came out piping hot and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great value for money. Special mention to Louise Ben for getting our food served so quickly and with a smile! Thank you.

The Marquis is a beautiful place inside and out with staff who go the extra mile to make sure customers are happy. The food is superb with the vegan cottage pie being a personal favourite. To top it all off, it's dog friendly too. My partner and I feel really blessed to have it so nearby in Penkhull.

Just want to say a big thank you to the owners of The Marquis the wonderful bar staff you had working yesterday, bank holiday Sunday, I came up with family and brought my one year old grandson to see the live bands, excellent day had by all. The fact that the owner takes time to reply to comments on this forum says it all to me, cannot recommend this local pub enough

Fabulous meal tonight at the Marquis, I had the duck which was delicious and my husband had the gammon which he really enjoyed, large portions to, dessert afterwards cheesecake was lovely, staff were attentive and the atmosphere was very welcoming, would definitely recommend and visit again x Vegetarian options: Vegan menu available Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot
