"Location, service and food were good. Problem was that of the 7 of us that dined there on Saturday night, 6 were vomiting by the next morning. Not been this ill in 20 years, and just recovering 24hrs later. The common denominator was maybe the olives to start. Real shame as it’s a lovely place with good service and food. I’ve got to question the hygiene practices after such an experience as I’ve been fortunate to never have had gastroenteritis in the UK, as I’m usually very careful. The added irony is that I’m a Gastroenterologist."

"We visited this restaurant for an evening meal to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. The food was good, and this was our second time dining here. We both enjoyed three courses and coffee, with only a little alcohol, and the total bill came to £100 for two. I found that a bit pricey for what we had, but it is what it is. The staff were very friendly, and our meals were served promptly without making us feel rushed. I believe you would leave satisfied if you decided to visit. Well done, Ivy House!"

"I went into this cafe, I didn’t read the sign saying vegan as we were in a rush and dying for some coffee after a bike ride. The initial welcoming was nice and the man at the till asked if oat milk would be okay....Like I said I didn’t realise it was vegan so I asked for ‘normal milk’. To which I got some lady on a table rudely say to me ‘it’s cow juice’ not normal milk, to which the staff all joined in. I wasn’t there to get a judgement of my life choices. I immediately felt uncomfortable and left. On my way out, I’m assuming the lady on the table was a regular said ‘you’d think they sell breast milk to huh’. I couldn’t believe my ears. I know people have strong feelings about the vegan lifestyle but I made a mistake going in this coffee shop. To all NORMAL MILK DRINKERS, you’ll be harassed by vegan activists in here, would avoid at all cost! I’d of be up for trying an oat milk latè, if the atmosphere wasn’t so appalling. Considering you are in a part of the world where farming has been a big part of history and culture, you deserve the reputation that people give you as being ‘vegan’. Up tight and just rude."

"Dined here after reading reviews on HC. Friendly service and bespoke vegan menu. I had the enchilada which was ok after a long day walking. But could do with more filling. Also ordered the potatas bravas, expecting a traditional dish. Instead was just fried chunks of potatoes covered in ketchup and mayo. Hence, a drop in star rating. Overall thought it was overrated. "My wife follows a gluten-free diet, and we found that most of the food here is suitable for her. We started by sharing a delicious dip called peacamol, which came with blue corn chips. For our main course, we shared the jerk goat, and it was outstanding. For dessert, we enjoyed a whisper, the Basque cheesecake, and the cherry Bakewell pudding—all of which were fantastic. The service was excellent as well; they accommodated both of our dietary restrictions perfectly. This is definitely the kind of place where you want to book your next meal before you even leave the restaurant!"
