"I ate it this restaurant based upon the recommendation of a chef at another restaurant in Hamburg. I was not disappointed. It is food that tastes as if it would be served in any home in Italy. It is not fine dining, per se, but...my meal was excellent. Cash only The tables even have the requisite checkered table cloths. All of the wines were Italian and the Pinot Grigio I had was very good. My main course was the pasta in an anchovy sauce. The taste of the anchovies immediately dragged me back to Italy. The anchovies must have been of very good quality as they did not have that kind of fishy flavor poor quality anchovies impart. There were not a lot of anchovies in the dish, rather the sauce olive oil infused with anchovies was fullflavored. Pasta, bruschetta, water, and Pinot Grigio was euros. The restaurant also looked like a down home Italian eatery. I made a reservation for pm on a Saturday night. minutes after I arrived very large groups arrived adding to the noisy Italian ambience. Perfecto. Not fine dining but great comfort food. I would go back"

We were in a bit of a hurry, otherwise the review might have been excellent instead of only very good. The ordered pizza, spaghetti and tomato soup were all very good, the ambient nice and cosy and service as wished

The food was absolutely amazing, I had such a great pizza. And the pasta from my brother was also good! Big portions! Great desserts. The ambience was not great, the servers were a little slow, but that didn't bother me. Such nice and friendly people!

We were six people and when we got there the restaurant wasn't full so we got a table quickly. The salami pizza was very good and the spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and peperoncino was excellent! I really liked it. It's spicy so I wouldn't...recommend it for people who don't like spicy food. I really enjoyed this restaurant and it's located in a very touristic neighbourhood.

Usually don't like Italian food but this was a mean pasta! Very friendly and authentic family owned restaurant. Tucked away in a side street, this however is the place to go! Funny way of discovering a gem: we needed some food and wanting something else...then the big chains but made a wrong turn on the Reeferbahn and wound up on the 'wrong side' : there some friendly 'street working ladies' pointed us towards this restaurant on the 'good side' of the street, away from the ladies just out of the kidness of their hearts to be clear

Three years ago i was walking in the area looking for an ktalian restaurant. I have found this restaurant and at first look it wasnt so attractive because from outside it is not easy to glimpse inside. I was so hungry and I decided to...get in. That was the best choice of my life. Since that time im visiting this restaurant or twice a week (even And I'm never bored of the staff and their food. Wonderful pasta, tasteful pizza and delicious meat ! You can ask food not listed in the menu, if they have the ingredients. That's the perfect italian style. I brought many friends there and they are all fully satisfied of that food and ambience. Five stars plus plus. ! Visualizza piatti

Booked a table here for o clock. when we arrived minutes late all the family were eating. that didn't worry us as we know was very early for Italy. anyway we sat and waited. the chef came out and apologised for the...wait and then we started, first with a local beer while we looked at the menu. we ordered Rabbit rolls and steak tartar, ravioli with shrimps and clam sauce, then we both had rabbit burger with salad, and for desert peach crumble with ice cream. a bottle of white local wine was recommended produced in the area. finished with a lovely coffee. an incredibly eating experience would recommend to every one. on top of all that the views were stunning. they spoke perfect English too.

This food was very over priced for what we received. I ordered the macaroni bolognese, it was so so bland, which was obviously tried to be masked with a ridiculous amount of salt. There was a pool of oil at the bottom of my bowl...and the meat tasted very cheap. I am not sure if ours hadn’t had as much effort put into it as it wasn’t one of the most expensive things on the menu, which is a shame as all the items on the menu should all be up to a high standard regardless of price, but I guess I will never know as I wouldn’t return here if I was paid to. We were also put onto the smallest table on the corner even though there was plenty of other places to be seated, right next to the toilets w...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
