"Awful customer service. We’d booked a table for breakfast after staying in the camping pods for our sons 2nd birthday but they told us even though they had our booking we couldn’t sit inside due to them expecting a school group in half hour. We’d expected to sit indoors and it was quite chilly outside and right next to a shop filled with animal toys which my toddler kept running into which is why we wanted to sit indoors. It’s not clear whether it’s table service or order at the till. We find our owns menus and ordered inside. The coffees were luke warm and I had to ask for sugar and a spoon when they brought them out. They brought 3/4 meals then locked the doors. They didn’t bring out my husbands pancakes and locked the doors. They had forgotten to bring them. The school group never materialised after an hour... awful experience which should have been a nice morning for our sons birthday"

Lunch buffet really skinny. Just little bites. No soup or a sandwich. Drink only water.

Had a great weekend at Port Lympne overall. Could not fault the dinner and service. It was great and we were very impressed. Would go back.

Excellent service, good food served quickly hot. My only criticism is that the dining room is a little dark. There is a beautiful old mural on the wall but because there are heavy drapes and a large flower arrangement in one window it is quite dark. It's ok for the evening though.

Just an incredibel day from beging to end. The staff all very-professional, friendly always willing to help outside of there role. Having travels the world stayed in some of the best hotels, I have to say the standards of everything is of the best you can find. We looked in depth at the establesment could see you could hold incredibel wedding , Corporate many other functions at the Hotel Grounds the list of opportunitys are endless. We will defiantly stay again are already planing our next stay.

We enjoyed our wedding anniversary dinner at Port Lympne everything was fantastic including the walk up to the mansion with the tree in the front full of lights the staff are very welcoming helpful, the food was superb and the mansion itself is wonderful with fantastic murals in most of the rooms of course the story of the mansion itself is fascinating. Highly recommended. P.s. We had to change our dinner date at the last minute, due to sickness, and the staff were totally sympathetic and accommodating.

The food was great but the service was just awful. We arrived and had a drink in the bar before hand. One of the waitresses shouted at another about how we should be sitting in the restaurant. They were fully booked with Christmas parties so when the parties arrived every single waitress and bar staff went to serve the parties and the restaurant was left unmanned for quite a while. They shouldn't take restaurant bookings if they know they are not going to have enough staff on to serve. The food itself was exceptional and it was just let down by the service.

The decor of the room is outstanding. Table for 2 not a lot of room to put glasses and plates etc. Food was excellent but would have liked a little more attention from the staff as kept waiting more than you would expect at these prices. Breakfast, no staff in the room and sat down and waited 10 minutes and then had to go and find a staff member to let them know we were there and waiting. Drink in the bar in the evening, person behind bar poured all the tonic into the gin without asking and then did not add lemon until I asked for it. Ordered 2 and both in different sized glasses. Not sure if they were training new staff on the days we stayed? Would not stay in the hotel again, but would def...

"I have to say since having my baby, I’ve been here twice, and it’s the most unwelcoming place I’ve felt being a Mum. The first experience, I had to change my baby on the floor of the toilets as there are no baby changing facilities available. (A mat you can place on the floor is kindly leant against the wall of the ladies toilets. That’s the extent of it . When booking with a high chair, there is no mention that there is no designated baby changing facilities. The second time I came I just didn’t bother trying, as I was advised that a table can be moved into the ladies loo if I don’t want to change her on the floor. We were kindly given a high chair as requested. However the type of high chair provided, my daughter is just ever so slightly still too small for (she is 13 months-the straps just don’t hold her in enough, not a fault of the pub, just a generic high chair that we aren’t quite ready for, in some places we’ve been the straps have been secure enough but sadly this one was not . So I decided to get my pushchair in and use that for her to sit and eat in so she’s safely secure. When it came to the attention of the staff that I was going to get the push chair, I have to say I have never been made to feel more of an inconvenience than I was today. Since having my child. I was met with comments “you’re going to get your push chair!?” Like it was a travesty. And then met with an enormous amount of comments, looks and whispers and fussing around me, about how this was going to take up too much room, we’d inconvenience other guests (may I add no one came to sit at the table we were next to at the time for the entirety of our stay!? , there was ample room for someone to sit and not be anywhere near the pram. But instead we had to take all our things and move…right in the doorway!? Where the pram was then right in the way of everyone coming in and out or passing to the main restaurant. I have never been treated so poorly in any establishment since becoming a Mum. It’s played on my mind all day and quite frankly I feel humiliated. I wish I’d known this before coming and I won’t be going again, and I want to as a Mum, let other Mums know. And give the restaurant a chance to accept my feedback and maybe make small changes to be more welcoming to mums with small children. There was another family with a baby in a pram across the way, I don’t think they received the same treatment, but I would stress this is not a baby friendly restaurant at all at the moment. My advice as a mother, is if someone calls to advise of a baby on the booking, advice them that there are no baby facilities, even if you have plans to add it in, it’s not there now and changing a baby on the floor is not acceptable or sanitary, bringing in a table without relevant safety features is equally not acceptable. In addition, be aware that some people may be bringing a pram as well as the need for a high chair. Every mother has a different scenario they bring when going out with their children."
