Service was excellent food was delicious didn't have to wait long either would reccomened.

We had a pleasant meal although my fish wasn't as good as usual. The service was slow but they were very busy. Didn't stay for coffee!

Local pub so perfect for getting too. Menu not very creative and been the same for a while. Very busy so very loud and was difficult to hear conversation at our own table. Quick service.

Another lovely meal at the Portsmouth Arms. Great food, great service- one of the best Sunday Roast dinners we have enjoyed out at a pub- thank you to our waiter Toby and the always welcoming Gary.

Although the food was good, the waitress was not only miserable and unhelpful, she also managed to mess up the order as well as reaching over me with hot plates while I was eating with no warning. Where do I start, from the moment we sat down we felt like we were a burden to the staff, when we ordered our starters took forever to turn up but to be fair they were ok. Mains eventually turned up and after going around other tables to replace the cutlery we had used found that burger had cheese on it when we asked for no cheese due to allergy and then the pie had a hair in it. Won’t go back again

We chose The Portsmouth Arms for a family lunch as it has good access for my Dad in his wheelchair and the food has always been very good. On Sunday the fish of the day was Antony’s fish pie which I chose and I have to say it was the best fish pie I have ever eaten!! We also like the fact you can order smaller portions of the food as both my parents have a much smaller appetite now and can find large portions off putting. Overall I would definitely recommend The Portsmouth Arms for delicious food in s lovely pub with friendly staff.

On one of our previous visits we encountered a small problem with service but otherwise our experiences prior to this latest visit had been very good. Sadly on this occasion it was very poor. Having been given the opportunity to review the menu and make our choice we were then told that three of our selections were not available, so the choice was very limited and the service starting from there was poor with us needing to chase up even the jugs of water we had been offered, (they turned up with desert). Perhaps even worse was the poor quality of the main course food. Clearly the restaurant was understaffed for the number of customers and this reflected in both the service and cooking activi...
