"We visited twice on a recent holiday and enjoyed the range of wines on offer as well as the helpful and friendly staff. The food menu is all locally sourced and is exceptionally delicious. Choice of cheese, seafood, charcuterie etc with bread all served in...slate platters. Great value. As we speak only very limited French, the staff were very helpful in recommending wines. The service was quick and cheerful on both visits. Tip: try the rosé, it was excellent!"

We had a selection of smoked fish (corn, salmon, mackerel and herring), large creams, bread and butter. Also2 glasses of white burgundy and 2 of muscadet sur lie. The costs were 38 euros. Service efficient, near the port and the fish stands. A wine bar with fish or a fish bar with wine is great. Not a restaurant, but a nice addition to Boulognes attractions.

Back to our hotel, fortunately we found Quai 42. It was a little after eating time this place is primarily a wine bar and food houses the wines, remember in France) and the owner finally agreed to serve us a fish soup...THE BEST I HAVE EVER TASTED) and a glass of wine. We had made a real house for the desert. We would definitely go back to Quai 42 to eat fish soup again and again. Pure joy.
