"My wife and I decided to eat out this evening. We took the opportunity to try The Rasoi restaurant, which is part of The Steventon House Hotel. We had often driven past and thought it would be good to try it. The hotel itself is in a very pleasant rural setting and a beautiful building. We were shown to our table by the window, which was very pleasant. It wasn't at all busy and after a few minutes we were the only diners remaining. The menu looked good and gave us a sense of great expectations, choosing the curried monkfish and the chicken dish, with taka dahl. The dishes that came out loud almost identical, same consistency, colour and flavour, but one had chicken who s the other was fish, both in a rather bland sauce. The best I can say about the food is that it wasn't unpleasant but not worth the bill. Having rather damned the cuisine, the waiter was excellent and very attentive. Even when we gave him our negative feedback on the meal, he was sorry we hadn't enjoyed it and would feed back to the chef. He said it was right that we said what we thought so that they knew they should improve good man!"

The food was excellent, some of the best Indian cuisine we have tasted. Portions on the small side for my husband, but good for me. The service was very good , not too quick, just right. Would visit again.

We enjoyed an excellent meal, far superior to the usual local Indian offerings, with a range of new and very different meal options. The spices and ingredients combined to produce some very interesting flavours.

I photographed a twilight wedding here earlier this year, and I cannot fault the team or the location. It's a great neutral ceremony room for the couple to put their own personal touch on if they wish. The wedding suite is characterful with the four poster bed and nice natural light which makes for good photos. There is also some outside space that can be used for photos both in the daytime and at night which is what we did! Hotel highlights: Great value
