Restaurant Terre et Mer

Once again this is a great location for people and boat watching and the restaurant was also very good. Seafood well prepared and fresh can be recommended.

We ate on the covered terrace which from one side had a lovely view of the quay and of Les Sables D'Olonne across the water, whereas it was also possible to be facing the maritime warehouses, indicating that it remains a working port. The food...was very fresh as one would expect, and the service was friendly but a little slow (understandable given that all the tables were full). We had a reasonably priced and delicious meal. Recommended.

Nothing is absolutely perfect, so difficult to give 5 blobs, but this was as near as dammit. Great personable service. Good set menu and a la carte choices. Excellent fish. No frites or potatoes, so quite a light meal. Which was good, because the deserts...were delicious. Again, not too heavy. We chose a good Sancerre to go with our meal, and it was just right. It was quite empty when we first arrived, but filled up quickly. Would definitely go back.

The weekday lunch menu is excellent for €16.20 you have a choice from three starters, three main meals and three desserts. An example being, four large prawns in a light batter, followed by a fillet of sea bass and finally nougat ice cream, all cooked...and presented very well. The restaurant has a training kitchen so therefore young people are being trained to help produce excellent food. The environment is relaxed although efficient and all the staff including Madame are superb. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Got there because of charming look, menu sounded interesting too. Service was very friendly, but unfortunately slow, maybe due to rush hour lunch. Had sweetbreat with Langoustines, that was ok, but not anything I got not self be made. Kids meal was innovative and very...good: merlu with rice and crepe as a dessert, was great offer! Neighbouring table mainly locals with casual looking, but obviously good tasting portions. Beter than regular bistro visit due to the view, atmosphere and friendly service, food not excellent.

My wife and I only choose here because it had a free table outside. We had the three course lunch menu, I had the Assiette Vendee for starters, a selection of ham, godfather and Langostine. The main course was a beef steak, rarely cooked with the...normal circumcisions, chips etc. Selected dessert was a panacotta, all this was nicely cooked and presented for 13.5 EUR, brilliant value especially given the location directly on the water. The service could have been a Ted Slicker, but we were in no hurry and the place was busy. Total fantastic visit.

A family type restaurant. Modern but cosy, rather small in the town of La Chaume overlooking the fishing and commercial port of Les Sables d'Olonne (a road between the restaurant and the port). The welcome is warm and friendly. The menus are moderately priced and...varied sea and land as the name of the place suggests. Tables are rather close to each other. Service can be slow if the place is full and slower than slow in the summer if there are extra tables set up outside. But a nice place to eat out when the town is not overcrowded. Good value for the money and friendly staff.

Technically, this is La Chaume instead of Sable d'Olonnes and if you are in the area, when it is busy, then it is worth noting the tourist traps along the promenade and taking one of the small ferries over this side of the inlet where... You will find about 12 restaurants near Place d'Armes and all with the water. It features a modern, clean, narrow interior and serves a variety of menus. The 15 Euro formula for lunch is excellent. Three courses of very good food in generous portions and excellent service. You have a few tables out there, but you have to get there early. Well, if you do,

a setting that does not pay for mines, especially on the terrace because it gives on the street and the cars parked mask the view on the access channel to the port. Similarly, it was not proposed to take an aperitif, which, this said, fell well since we did not consider taking it. but we ordered a 75 cl of muscadet that served it. and there we found very bad, not having any flakes like our neighbors, especially since we took the most expensive menu at 32,50 €. It's a fault of regret, because it doesn't cost them anything.
