"I just got back from one. wry beautiful afternoon tee in salty dog cafe. amazing friendly staff couldn't do enough. had my grandchildren with me (9 and 12) and instead of tee, wanted bananas and chocolate milk shakes. I have them with a smile and without extra charge. a large amount for food..really beautiful sausage rolls, sandwiches and skorn, cake etc. children loved it and so did the adult. I took food home. go back to the birthday contract and have another afternoon tee later this month."

Second visit with family. The staff were caring and generous at the same time. I was very impressed with the fact that they were mature beyond their years. AND the coffee was magnificent

We visited twice on a recent short break and were extremely satisfied with the service, variety and quality of a fairly small establishment. The owners deserve to be congratulated and rewarded with plenty business. Visualizza piatti

remained for lunch and little otherwise open, but got a table and ordered well. busting place and quite small, so the endless tearing them more than busy. had to wait long and great help from decent food, all day breakfast and...soup/toastia good value

dreary soulless caffe. we were only people, the owner gave monosyllabic answer to simple asking. it took time to order after we left our order back to the kitchen, they had to choose to pay bill. Despite the summer season that just started the...whole place, would have had a hauch of color and cleansed. Scottish hospitality the worst

My family and I are regular visitors to the salty dog cafe. The food is fresh, tasty and sent out quickly. The owner who is also the chef is hardworking and attentive to her customers requirements. The eggy bread is amazing as is the Cajun...chicken sandwiches if a little addictive My only Criticism would be that it would be nice if the salad had a dressing on it. Visualizza piatti

Four of us visited yesterday (06/09/21) we were seated by the lady, and left for twenty minutes as she was snowed under with customers and was very short staffed! We did feel that we had been forgotten about, we ordered lunch sandwiches and soup and...when the food did come it was OK, but as we had waited a lifetime for the order to be taken, it wasn’t the greatest experience. I would go back and support them, but if there were other choices in cafes etc I’d probably try them instead!

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
