"Shikoku was right below the apartment we rented when we were in Paris. After a number of days of Indian and Middle Eastern food we were craving for some Asian food so we decided to try out this Japanese restaurant.We didn't eat at the restaurant but ordered takeouts instead on 3 occasions during our 8 days stay in Paris. We ordered the usual Japanese sushi fair, Sushi Moriwase,Temaki and Tempura. Food was pretty good and comparable to any decent Japanese restaurant. It's not the best but pretty decent if you have a craving for some Japanese food. Service was good the few times we ordered takeout. The waiters and chef were friendly and helpful. The funny thing is, it is a Japanese restaurant but managed by Chinese. The waiters, chef and manager were all Chinese. That's globalisation for you!The restaurant itself had a typical Japanese decor. It had a split level layout and fit about 15-20 tables. The meals we ordered cost between €70-€80, which for Japanese restaurants was pretty cheap. I have been to Japanese restaurants which cost 10 times that. Then again, those are the fine Japanese restaurants. So if you're looking for some decent Japanese food in Central Paris close to Printemps and Galleries La Fayette, then you should check out Shikoku which is just 5 minutes walk in Rue De Mathurins."

Thought it was another fake japanese restaurant which rips off tourists. Turn out the food is better than average. Customers are mainly local french and Chinese. Returned for another meal the following day.

We stayed at Hotel Monsieur across the street and ate at Shikoku twice. I had a half bottle of wine, and my husband had two beers. we each had an entree, which included several things, and our bill was under $50. Our entrees also came with soups and salads. It was a great value. Overall, the sushi was very good.
