Tanhouse At Leith Hill Tower

Amazing place with perfect view from the hill. Lots of free parking spaces. Need a comfortable shoes for long walks. There is a Small cafe on the hill. Leith hill tower is 3£ entry.

I think previous reviews haven’t made the distinction between the Tanhouse Cafe near Newdigate and their other branch, the Tanhouse tea bar at Leith Hill Tower on top on Leith Hill. They are associated but not same place being five miles apart.

I think I encountered the same person as Denise. Unnecessarily rude and clearly just angry. The only stain on what is a beautiful place and a quaint little cafe. God knows why you choose to work with the public. I’m sure your employers know exactly who I mean. Visualizza piatti

The walk to the tower is lovely as submerged in nature. Many walking trails to choose from. The tower itself isn't much but stands as an important part of the local history. We'll maintained and friendly service at the canteen, we old recommend to add this place on your list of things to do.

Friendly service from the cafe staff and good cake, with tea in proper mug. Great views, can be crowded and chatty with walkers and cyclists right by the tower, but lower down there are several picnic tables and seats where it is quieter. Worth the walk up the hill from Coldharbour (tiny village with nice pub).

This is just a little kiosk embedded in the bottom of Leith Hill Tower. As well as basic refreshments it also sells tickets for the ascent of the tower (National Trust members free of course). With the push to be less reliant on plastic and be eco-friendly it is highly refreshing (in more ways than one) to see the little kiosk café in the Leith Hill Tower offering delicious beverages in proper mugs. There's nothing better than looking down over Surrey and Sussex with a proper cuppa in your palm. And I'm sure it's far more eco to dishwash than use throw-away cups, even if they are allegedly recyclable.

A joy to see folks walking around with proper mugs of hot drinks instead of non recyclable cups. A very varied selection of hot and cold drinks and lovely pasties and sausage rolls. Good choice of cakes sticky flapjack very filling and delicious! All served quickly and by pleasant staff. Plenty of seats around the tower and area below. Magnificent views from the top of the tower but be careful as the narrow spiral staircase is quite dark in places especially if you have photochromic lenses in your glasses! As others have noted there are no toilets here so be prepared.

Hi I work long hours as a nurse decided to have a walk with a friend for some down time. Had a lovely walk decided to stop have a coffee no one on the entrance I called politely anyone there. A few minutes later a very irate lady appeared and said sharply ‘I was on the toilet’ fair enough we all need the toilet but it was her tone and if looks could kill. Then went onto stack bottles on the shelf as if to make a point. We can all make a point mine is don’t be so rude next time you know who you are you don’t know me I wouldn’t be rude like you in my job. Be thankful you’ve got a job! Won’t be visiting again to be spoken to like that! Just put a small notice ‘back soon’ it’s as simple as that! Visualizza piatti
