"Visited on Saturday July 30th for an impromptu lunch. The adults had a variety of baguettes, children had chicken nuggets and chips, for desserts we HAD to try the Sticky toffee pudding and strawberry mess children had brownie). Such tasty tasty food, and the most divine sticky toffee pudding. On a purely personal level, I would prefer not dressing on the salad absolutely nothing wrong with the dressing, but I don't like dressing on a salad. We also had 5 soft drinks and the bill was an extremely reasonable £46 for everything. Will definitely be returning."

What a pleasure to find The Barge in Gloucester which is head and shoulders above the expensive and dull mass catering of most outlets in the docs. A freshly prepared chicken and mushroom dish served with fuelling followed by wine poached pear and ice cream plus a large diet coke all for under 20 pounds. Lovely setting and perfect service. So very good.

We had a huge breakfast at this restaurant and tried the fried bread and black pudding, which is hard to find nowadays. The big mug of tea was very comforting and the price was surprisingly low. We had tried to visit before but it was always closed, so we were thrilled to finally get in this time. We couldn't find a single fault with this place - they do an excellent job! The atmosphere and the food were both outstanding.
