"We booked a table to celebrate a get together the night before our wedding for 15 and preordered all of our meals which included a package of three courses and welcome drink, all sent to the restaurant a couple of weeks in advance. It was just an absolute disaster from the get go. As soon as we sat down I was given a stapled together document of all of our preorders to ‘check through’ for some reason, despite sending these by email in plenty of time and not really being sure what I was supposed to be doing as the waitress looked really confused. I had screenshots of everyone’s orders luckily. Despite it being a group booking where we wanted one table, they sort of squashed two tables together that didn’t fit so we were essentially on two separate tables apart from each other. Our drinks turned up just before dessert and not once did anyone come to take our drink orders separately to this. We had to go downstairs to the very busy bar to get a drink with waiting times of around 15 minutes. There was a staff member wearing a red shirt with I think penguins on it (date Friday 15th December) and I never ever name and shame anyone but this man who I think was a manager screamed at the staff from the top floor down to the bottom so incredibly loudly that it made everyone in the upstairs area so, so uncomfortable. He was just rude to everyone and your staff shouldn’t have to put up with that. A number of the desserts didn’t turn up and those that did were wrong. I was accused of not including some people’s desserts in the preorder, even though I had clear evidence that I had. We had a rude waitress with a face on her as though we were in the wrong and a massive inconvenience to be spending several hundreds at their restaurant and were only ever polite at the endless mistakes terrible service. In the end they took money off our bill for all of the errors, but I’ve never been made to feel like dirt in a restaurant before like I have there. It was beyond awful. Do NOT go there during a busy period i.e. around Christmas and don’t expect them to remember your preorders or even be treated with respect whether you’re a staff member or a customer. Absolute shambles."

Took ages for food and drinks to be served. Food quality poor see pic of Katsu Chicken, looks like cat sick! Ladies toilets a disgrace see pics. Not recommended and wont be going again!

slowest service in history. burgers sat to go cold for 20 minutes why the waitress floated around on a different planet. People getting up and leaving. massively shocking never again people could due of starvation waiting for the waitress here

This week we had our xmas work meal at the Botanist in Coventry. The venue was stunning. I liked how they sent in a pre order link prior to our meal. It took 30 minutes to bring our drinks which seemed like an effort. We were slightly disappointed, even though a pre order was taken, we waited more than 3 hours to complete a three course. When the food arrived it looked good but was served cold. When the bill arrived we were overcharged so I had to manually work out what was owed.

We pre booked a work Christmas dinner and had emailed our pre orders over in advance. Table booked for 7pm. When we arrived the table wasn't ready and we asked to order a drink and wait. At 745 after asking when the table would be ready we sat down. The Starter took half an hour to arrive, At 930 and after asking 3 times to speak to a manager and complaining our food arrived. Food is excellent but the service is not. We did receive a free round of drinks but that does not make up for the disappointing service we received.

I was honestly disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I had heard great things about it and was looking forward to the evening, but most of the servers were quite rude and didn't seem to care about providing a pleasant experience. Our first and second food choices were already sold out, even though we had made an early dinner reservation at 5pm. The surroundings were beautiful, but the service was lacking. Additionally, I was frustrated by the automatic 10% service charge added to the bill. Overall, I don't see what all the fuss is about and I won't be returning.

Went here for my birthday. We were sat between 2 big tables. It took them 45 minutes to bring a jug of water to the table. We asked 3 different servers and in the end we had to ask the people at the bar where it was. By that time we had our food and drinks . As it was my birthday we were promised a jazzy drink but no one came to the table to ask what drink we would like. It felt like we were forgotten about. We would have stayed longer but the wait from the servers was shocking it left us feeling frustrated and disappointed which is not what I wanted to feel on my birthday. The only good thing was the food and drink.

We were getting together with friends in Coventry for a meal and booked a table for 7 on Saturday night. The best time available was 8.30pm which was slightly late but we went for it anyway. We had a few reminders not to turn up late so arrived in good time and ready to eat. The table wasn’t ready but we were promised a 5 minute wait and urged to go to the bar for a drink. Getting a drink proved impossible as there were hardly any bar staff and they were kept busy making cocktails. We were told a few more times it would be another 5 minutes but with no drinks and no table we left after 20 minutes. I’m so saddened by the service myself and my friend received today. From the moment we arrived the service was poor. Every little thing seemed like too much trouble and it get like hard work just to get a drink. My friend was then reprimanded by a male server because she inadvertently walked through an area that was apparently for staff only. It was on the way to the toilet and looked like a simple walkway. There were no signs or anything to say staff only and she was very upset to be spoken to in such a rude and nasty manner. When we spoke to another server she immediately got defensive and clearly had no intention of listening to how my friend felt. I think the staff here need training on...

I booked this for a work event for 14 people and I was embarrassed from start to finish. On booking through a third party [which made everything really over complicated] I had to give a list of pre orders, which being over the Xmas period was not easy, was told that I need to confirm by X date [I was on leave] rang the venue who said confirm the booking on the system for 12 and then call us with the final two [which my colleague did], had an email form third party stating we were missing 2 from our order so I responded stating I had liaised with venue directly.
