"My friends and I decided to visit this restaurant on the first beautiful day of 2018 and spent the afternoon there. We sat outside on the terrace, enjoying the breathtaking view across Wiltshire, where we could even see the white horse. We asked if we could extend our afternoon tea for two to include a third person, and it was no problem. We opted for their afternoon tea mix, which was absolutely delicious and fresh. The sandwiches came first, with combinations like egg, ham, and cheese with pickles. Next came the homemade scones with homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream, followed by a selection of sponge cakes with various fillings. We particularly enjoyed the lemon curd and chocolate sponges. The price was very reasonable at £7.40 per person, and we also treated ourselves to a glass of prosecco for £4.95. We couldn't resist ordering another pot of the refreshing tea. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful, and even the restroom was well-maintained and had lovely lemon scented hand wash. Overall, a must-visit spot if you're in the area."

The staff is friendly, the interior is charming, and most importantly, the food here is excellent! Everything I have tried is delicious (especially the salted caramel cake) and their Welsh rarebit is the best I have had outside of Wales.

This restaurant is beautifully decorated with incredible art on the walls. It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or just have coffee and cake. The loose leaf teas are delicious and the menu has something for everyone. The brunch is definitely worth trying, and the selection of cakes is amazing. I love this place!

We enjoyed a quick pitt stop at The Charlton Cat this morning, with our Springer Spaniel Molly. We enjoyed a bacon sandwich and a fresh cup of coffee on the terrace yummy and a fab view! Interested to hear about the planned steak nights for later in the year so will definitely be watching the Facebook page for that!

A birthday afternoon tea for 16 people. All beautifully presented and we were really well looked after. This venue is tastefully furnished. We had previously eaten here during the evening (steak night is super) and lunch time... booking for a private function worked really well. Gigi did lots of extra touches, with reserved parking managed by her husband !! I would use their services again without hesitation x

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
