The Crooked Well - Piatti

Nice pub but terrible drinks: very basic wine which was overpriced and flat beer. The roast was very basic; wouldn’t eat there again.

Have always liked this pub and love what they have done recently with the Carters pop up in the kitchen. Delicious food and a really nice varied menu. Would recommend!

Have been to the Crooked Well a few times since the new residence ‘Carters’ started it does not disappoint. Highlights include the gildas and the steak, but need to return for the pie as it looks amazing! The food is high end but with the chilled vibes you want in a pub setting.

Great local pub serving amazing food! I love the new menu we had some tasty burgers and you can tell the produce is top quality : definitely recommend the panisse and smoked trout too... some of the best food in Camberwell bar staff and waiters are super friendly, looking forward to coming back asap

When 4 of you spend £300+ on Sunday lunch and an establishment sneaks on to the bill extras that you are not aware of like £1.50 for extra gravy, i full disagree and get annoyed. You may have have gained an extra few quid but you've lost our return custom. Very underhand, and when i told you...it wasn't a joking comment, don't agree with me then laugh. Visualizza piatti

A complete joke to be honest. Do not , under any circumstances even consider holding any kind of function at this place as it's like trying to deal with a bunch of circus monkeys. Completely wastes 6 months of my life, and wasted hundreds of pounds organising a reception here and it was all just too much for them. Dishonest, unorganized and rude. Please don't waste your time.

The Carter’s menu was so delicious, I need to come back for the full menu (I was there for a roast). Even though this place is right in the center of camberwell, it’s a bit off the main road so it was a nice chill spot for a Sunday! The staff were super friendly and fun. For starters try the panisse made of chickpeas, I didn’t want to share it (even though it’s a big portion)!

A lovely pub, with a great and friendly team. But over the last 12 18 months the room seems less busy and I suspect that has a lot to do with the food and drink. A short but nice wine list, the rest of the drinks list seems shorter and more limited. But it is the food menu that has changed drastically. The Crooked Well was a great 'gastro ' pub, with excellent food. It was not the cheapest but generally always very good. Now the menu reads like a slightly enthusiastic home cook has put it together, and the general quality is very average. Perhaps we were spoilt beforehand, but it seems like a huge step down. Still a nice place, but perhaps for a Sunday lunch or snack rather than a nice meal... Visualizza piatti
