"The restaurant offered delicious, fresh food with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. It was nutritious and enjoyable to eat, with lots of taste without being overwhelming. I ordered the bento box, which was great value, as did my wife. My brother in law had the ramen soup, which was also filling and flavorful. Many of the dishes were new to me, and the desserts were flavorful and textured without being too sweet. My wife, who had traveled in Japan last year, found the food to be authentic. The staff, including the waitress and a cheerful Japanese lady, were pleasant."

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Fantastic, cosy little restaurant nestled down a little side street at the back of St Julian's church. The place is full of character, the service is excellent, the wine lovely and the food scrumptious. We would definitely go back next time we are staying in the area. We shared a gorgeous aubergine and gorgonzola based starter followed by seafood carbonara for my gf and a tomatoe based spaghetti with garlic, chilli, capers and olives for me. The cheesecake and tiramisu were just as good to round off a perfect meal. All very reasonably priced too."

"Great atmosphere and food. Went there on an evening and found it to be a calming experience. I was in attendance with four others and we started with a mixed platter and seafood platter. These small portions, nicely presented, previewed what was to come from the salmon that melts in the mouth through to the vegetable pakora that was lightly fried and has a gentle flavour. For my main I ordered a Roghan Josh Lamb Shank. This is advertised as being marinated overnight and you could tell because every morsel was packed with flavour. Not only that, the shank was cooked perfectly and meat came away from the bone effortlessly. To accompany my main I had some tandoori roti, which tore well and could be used to retrieve portions of meat as well as scoop up portions of the sauce."

"Amazing restaurant. We made a reservation for my husband's birthday and what a delight. we had a garlic pizza bread starter to share which has options to add various toppings, ours included tomatoes, parmesan, balsamic vinegar, delicious. Mains were a beautifully cooked fillet medium rare, I was told by the waiter (very polite and good service) that chef would refuse to cook if I wanted it cooked any more than medium rare. I like this approach and I see why he said it. The steak was stunning. My husband had the pork very delicious. Somehow we fitted in desert too. Will definitely be coming back. The only reason I put 4 star on atmosphere was at times the music reminded me, at times of my younger drinking days. Although it was quiet and we booked on line I can imagine it getting busy. Very good restaurant and are looking forward to visiting again for pizza next time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"
