Very easy going venue for a lovely meal. Was quiet when we went but know it to have a very lively atmosphere in the evenings. Excellent food.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Beef mouth-wateringly tender the shared tart tatin dessert was perfect! Service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. We would definitely recommend.

We had Sunday lunch here and the food was excellent. Despite being super busy the staff were attentive and just about enough time between courses. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the tarte tatin was delicious Visualizza piatti

The food and service was very good the atmosphere and the place it’s self is very very nice , my only gripe was the service charge which was £15.00 I certainly don’t mind giving a tip but I don’t agree with the service going onto the drinks also I’ll be back

We dined here for my wife’s birthday and had not been for about a year. It was excellent from the moment we walked through the door and the birthday card and candle were nice touches. The food is of a very high standard and even after 3 courses we did not feel bloated. A pleasant red wine from south west France proved a perfect accompaniment. We will not leave it so long before we return.

Three of us ate here on Tuesday Sept 17. It was a late decision to eat out. Using the online facility to find a table was great. We only had a different main course and all were excellent. The portion were ideal for us. Service was a little slow but staff were polite and friendly. The selection of wine by the glass was satisfactory and the wines chosen was enjoyable. This was a birthday lunch and I was made to feel very special. A birthday card was placed on the table, a nice touch. We dined off the A La Carte menu. The menu is not extensive which, in my opinion, is to be recommended. The cheese soufflé was delicious, light and fluffy and very tasty. Our main courses were both fish dishes which were beautifully presented and equally delicious. Dessert did not disappoint! After our meal I was presented with a candle , chocolate Happy Birthday and delicate sweets, such a thoughtful gesture. Service was friendly and efficient. We were welcomed and shown to our table promptly. Menus arrived soon thereafter and a bottle of cold tap water with glasses. Menus including drinks list arrived quickly and a young lady came over to ask our choices. After an appropriate wait our drinks orders were taken and they arrived quickly. The chosen bottle of wine was served professionally. We placed our orders, after about 10 minutes another young lady came over to apologise in advance and informed us that as the place was very busy, there will be a further wait and complimentary bread, butter and olive oil was served. Despite having heard really good things about the ‘Duncombe Arms’ we left feeling deflated and disappointed! Myself and wife decide to visited the ‘Duncombe Arms’ with our children to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival we’re allocated seating directly opposite the main entrance. The cold wind blowing through the entrance due to the sheer number of guests coming in was uncomfortable, we asked to be moved however all other seats were taken. As a result my son and wife choose to keep their coats on. We then proceeded to place our drinks order with ‘front of house’ however these took over 40 minutes to arrive and actually came out after our food had been delivered.
