Excellent value staff very pleasant food was excellent we sat in to eat and it was non stop with people ordering take away highly recommended food

honestly the worst bunch of staff. Extremely grumpy and rude. I heard the staff being rude to multiple customers not just myself. Won’t be returning.

Best Skate and Chips, serving middle skate which is quite rare now days. Travelled from Spain to try this fish and enjoyed it so much, I had to return and repeat the order.

The staff here were so rude to me. I will not be returning. I came out for some dinner not to be spoken to like a piece of rubbish. I’m sure I’m not the first to of experienced bad attitude in this chip shop!

A very friendly restaurant. Nice atmosphere. My fish was well cooked and delicious although small for the price charged and £2.45 for chips is excessive. Pigotty's in Epping is similar quality but much cheaper and for take away Anchor in Ongar can't be beaten.

This restaurant is set up as a fast food take-out, but it's also a nice place to sit and dine. You can chat with the owner and choose to enter from either St. Thomas Rd. or Moore's Pl. They serve some of the best Fish & Chips in all of Great Britain. The cook has a lot of experience with fish, making it perfectly fried without being mushy or dry. The fish is fresh and flavorful, and the chips are thick and crispy on the outside with a soft interior. They offer a variety of rare lemonades to choose from, which is a nice alternative to beer. While waiting for our food, I noticed that the bill was higher than expected. Upon checking the receipt, I saw that the prices were much higher than what was advertised on the board. Additionally, we had to order larger portions as the small portions were not available, but they did not honor the price of the small portions. I was also charged extra for being gluten-free, which was not mentioned when ordering or on the board. When I politely inquired about this discrepancy to a young lady, she rudely mentioned it was a service charge and implied that I should have known since I had been there before.
