"Lamb Balti?. Having read a number of positive reviews about this place I decided to give it a try. I have to agree with some of the other comments that it is a little overrated, the poppadoms were stale and the starter of chicken Pakoda fritters were soggy instead of crispy. A friend of mine who loves a good Balti was very disappointed going so far as to say he couldn't recognise it as a balti. I opted for the Nepalese mixed masala and again this was very bland. Overall I don't think I will be going to this Indian restaurant again there are numerous choices in the Manchester area and I think my money would be better spent trying alternatives."

For all those who rate this for indian food, have not tried many other places, my local takeaway is better. This place is well over rated.

really busy restaurant, service was a bit bad, we had to ask for our drinks and water a few times. the food is certainly made for them. best curry I've had for a long time.

Good, however given the vague description on the menu it was difficult to determine the Nepalese dishes from the Indian cuisine! However, a nice authentic feel and tasty, good food!!

food was nice! service was good. can't really complain was a great night out. order two nets, 2 nans, 1 rice and 4 drinks between me and my partner, which at £39.00 without drinks only £26.00 super.

I think it's a bit over rated.Food isn't that good and the place is quite cramped.Have given it a few chances because of friends but it has been a let down at most times.Have to say the manager is very friendly though.

A regular visit is always in order! Anyone going there for the first time must try the chicken tandori karahi. When ever I go it is always busy. décor needs a bit of an update but feels cost and staff are very welcoming

what a great experience eating is super tasty. we ordered the murghi mossala (24 hour huh, as it is knowing) I have a picture for the reference attached. the taste just cries to you. the sohn the owner makes a big job and he has put the big kathmandu back on curs to win many more awards!

love the katmandu Friday night is gk night. as always they asked if we had booked, as always we said no. as always a table appeared within seconds, although the restaurant was packed. as always we were served with poppadomen and kingfisher in the flash of the eye. the headkeeper knows now what we want to order, the menu is etched in my brain. then it came to eat. a naan to feed a coachload, let alone me. the curry, just beautiful. perhaps the best service of the world. they do not call it great for nothing.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
