"The Harp has been my favourite pub in London since I first visited it probably just over 10 years ago. I couldn 't wait to go back when my wife and I visited London again to watch a show over the Bank Holiday weekend. We got to The Harp at just before 10pm on a Sunday. I had forgotten that the pubs seem to close ridiculously early on Sunday nights in the capital but there were still quite a number of customers drinking, inside and out. I bought a pint and my wife a drink and we sat down to drink them in the presumption that we may have 20-30 minutes drinking up time before the pub closed properly. We had literally sat down 2 minutes when one of the bar staff announced they were closing in 10 minutes. I thought they were winding the customers up, considering I 'd only just been served but I was wrong. The barmaid and a bloke who I couldn 't work out if he worked there too or she just knew him, then started arguing loudly and he pushed something off the bar which smashed on the floor which escalated the argument further. It was becoming really uncomfortable watching the barmaid screaming and shouting in front of us in such a small pub. She then yelled that they were closing so some customers then walked towards the toilets upstairs and she started shouting, Where the are they going? We 're closing! Why are they going to the toilet now! When I said we 're closing in 10 minutes, why didn 't they go then? She made a real show of herself and was rude and aggressive to customers. My wife said she wanted to leave straight away so she left half her drink and we went. I hope the brewery see this review and look into it. The Harp used to be a fantastic pub which I never failed to enjoy visiting but to experience this woman badgering customers and shouting and swearing in front of them means I 'm afraid to say, I won 't be going back. From a 5-star to no stars (if I could) in the 4 years since I last visited."

It was a podcast featuring Andrew Ridgeley that led us to The Harp, after he mentioned that this was one of his favourite places to drink. It is a beautiful little watering hole, but on a busy Saturday night in December, we could not spot him here Wham damn!

Beer and cider range was very good however the staffs attitude was appalling. He spent all his time on his phone , and made us feel we were honoured to even be served. Never spoke to us but to take our order and didn't give us our total when we paid by card. Lovely pub get better staff

I had a nice drink after a concert at St Martin in the Fields. It was a friendly and welcoming pub. I foolishly left my coat behind when leaving on a train back to Bristol. I phoned the next day and the manager kindly packaged up and posted back my coat totally free of charge the next week. AMAZING SERVICE!!

Totally disinterested bar staff, can’t wait to sit back down behind the bar and stare at their phones, no welcome, no warmth, they make the customer feel like a hindrance, I only wanted a drink I’m no bar fly I don’t want to strike up a conversation, It strikes me they think most of the customers are tourists so don’t need to bother, it’s part of your job to be welcoming, even if you fake it, at least look like your interested. This must surely be one of the best pubs in central London. The choice of beers for lovers of cask ale is great, the bar staff are phenomenal memo to Spoons bosses, send your staff here for training re pulling a pint and customer service ! , and the ambience/ mix of customers, tourists and Londoners, is great ! Only slight downside is a morose and customer unfriendly bouncer. But even he does not prevent me giving this excellent pub a 5 star rating!!

This was once a great no nonsense drinking pub with a wonderful Irish landlady running the show. I sought it out aftet many years on a visit to London and it has turned into another souless english pub due primariky to the sraff and bad beer..staff just chat to each other and other off duty staff who seem to have no where else to go. It is basically a Weatherspoons Light. Very sad to see and at 5.30 for a terrible pint the name 'Harp Bar ' should be removed . It is nkt the Harp my generation knes.

A favourite and reliable pub for decades, good beer, sausages, friendly and competent staff. Not so when visited in August. Teenage children behind the bar of various ethnicities, only interested in their phones and laughing with one another. Not interested in the customers, no courtesy, not a pleasant atmosphere. Beer poor. Emailed Fuller's after our visit to ask what was going on, no response which I take as approval. Recommend the Porterhouse nearby, great pub service and beers, or just about anywhere else. It's a shame that me and my wife were met with racism on our first attempt at visiting a classic pub in London. There were two bartenders the night we went in around 6:00 p.m., a young white man and a young black man. I was served my first round by the white man with no problem but my second attempt at getting a drink from him he kept passing me over until another patron told him it was my turn. Both my wife and I tried to get drinks from the side where the young black man was serving people and were completely ignored for at least 5 to 10 minutes before just giving up. He served everyone else around me out of turn and then when it was clearly my turn next he started washing dishes and then...

After sampling the Ciders and Perries on offer at the 2023 Great British Beer Festival I decided to use my All-Zones Travelcard and my remaining time in London to visit The Harp, which several people had recommended to me because it offered a good range of Real Ciders, and in this respect I wasn't disappointed. This little gem of a traditional two-room London pub is situated a very short walk from Charing Cross Mainline and Underground railway stations, adjacent to the National Gallery. When I arrived at 19:30 hours on a damp Saturday night the pub was very busy, mainly with supporters of Peterborough United Football Club who had been attending an away match, but I was able to find a seat at...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
