"My friend and I ordered a brown roll with pork and apple sauce, a white roll with pork and cranberry sauce, along with our choice of drinks. We sat at a table by the front window, enjoying our delicious meals while watching the world pass by. The generous portions of pork on our rolls were so filling that we couldn't finish them, so we decided to take the leftovers home. The total cost was £9.90, which we found to be very reasonable. The young man who served us was friendly, and despite the restaurant being busy around lunchtime, we had a fantastic experience. I will definitely make a point to visit this restaurant again the next time I am in Scotland."

beautiful location, nice staff. eating was amazing. that was nice. it was also very cheap! the portions are good! I went there for a afternoon snack and felt like I had dinner too! 5 stars! definitely recommend

While waiting to board our train, we stumbled upon the Hog Shop and I must say, it was absolutely amazing. The pork was incredibly tender and the sauce was the perfect complement. We even had the pleasure of meeting the shop owner, Derek, who was incredibly friendly and made us laugh. The food was so delicious that we ended up getting some takeout to bring back to Manchester with us. If we ever find ourselves back in Edinburgh, we will definitely be returning to the Hog Shop. Highly recommended - we just wish we had remembered to take some pictures!
