"We have dined at The Legh Arms several times before, but last night was truly special. It was my partner's 60th birthday, and we had a surprise party with 17 guests, which could have posed some challenges. From booking the event, to discussing menu choices, to our seating arrangements on the night, everything was handled smoothly and without any issues. The food was exceptional - everyone was impressed with the quality, presentation, flavors, and portion sizes. Every single member of the staff, from the front of house to the bar, were fantastic - friendly, attentive, and even under pressure, they had a great sense of humor and personality. We want to thank The Legh Arms for making our special night even more memorable. We look forward to returning soon. Best regards, Rob and Lynda."

The best meal I've had in a while. Even after travelling for 3 weeks through France. We'll done to the chef's, your sea bass meal was first class.

Not very expensive, good value for money. Will be back again. Everyone enjoyed themselves. One improvement would be faster service. But overall good. Visualizza piatti

Sadly this pub advertisers itself as dog friendly so you think your dog is allowed in the restaurant, they aren't !! When I phoned to check they apologised and said they'd get their website changed. May be allowed in the bar area but no guarantee of being able to order food :

I used to frequent this restaurant often before Christmas, but returned today and was not impressed. The waitresses were lovely and helpful, but unfortunately, the chef did not meet my expectations. I will not be returning for food in the future because my experience was not enjoyable.

This excellent country pub has attentive staff, a delightful atmosphere, and offers good food and drink at reasonable prices. I even recognized the lady owner from our favorite sister pub, The Hop Vine. She was always on top of things, ensuring that everyone was well taken care of and working hard to support her team. We look forward to visiting again soon. Visualizza piatti

Tuesday evening birthday meal, 6 diners. Main course good, service prompt. Unfortunately desert of sticky toffee pudding hard to get spoon through. Gave up Trying to eat pud half way through by 3 of guests who had ordered this. ? Over microwaved. Informed waitress reason for not finishing sweet, apologies given. A goodwill gesture of maybe Coffees or one sweet knocked off bill would have been appreciated. Disappointed

We visited over the Bank Holiday weekend. We'd already walked out of one place due to poor service whilst visiting Southport so were hungry and a bit narky but that changed when we came to The Legh Arms. The moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the wonderful staff who were attentive and friendly throughout our visit. The food was amazing; arrived quickly and was piping hot. Traditional English food which was well cooked. And the best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had.

"ok… I have deliberated whether to write this as don’t like to be negative but I think this place can take it so here goes… My husband booked a meal as a Christmas pressie this as I have always wanted to go to a michelin star restaurant and this is quite local to us. We arrived at The Barn which is quite basic in appearance as the downstairs looks like several saunas due to the amount of wood on show. Upstairs was nice and attractive. The staff are efficient but the whole set up is bit ‘cold’ and unfriendly. The staff were not particularly engaged; maybe this is how they were trained to be? The food consisted of amuse bouche which tbh didn’t really taste of much and this was a theme for the whole menu unfortunately. The homemade bread was delicious but the other offerings were tasteless and needed seasoning. -trout mousse in a lemon broth, including pips, was tasteless and the mussel mousse on pikelet didn’t taste of mussels. anyhow on to the main event-we ordered partridge -chewy and tasteless, the cured sea bream not seasoned sufficiently. The meals looked delicious-style over taste? Then the mains-my deer was tender and delicious but the sauces didn’t taste of much-I had to check the menu to see what they were meant to be. My husband ordered the steak-now at £62 this should have been SOME steak- what a shame it wasn’t -it was just a sirloin, bit chewy, not that great. Deffo not worth £62 of taste! It wasn’t caramelised on the outside and abit sinewy. The bone marrow bearnaise sauce was tasty though. Now I like cooking, I like food , I cook fresh meals every night but I’m not a chef. My first experience of food at this level… I will stick to local restaurants WITHOUT michelin stars at a fraction of the price -tbh I prefer my own home cooked meals! Is this a case of the emperors new clothes? Do people just think it’s good because they are told by someone else it’s fantastic? I’m disappointed in the experience at The Barn. Bit of a wash out and I will be asking for a meal at Bistro Verite in Birkdale next Christmas probs at a fraction of the price!"
