The New Yorker Long Island Grill & Bar

Had dinner with friends. Service functioned well, place was new and modern in style, quite rich menu both on food and wines and suberb see food soup as a starter. Location is a bit tricky, since nothing elso at the vicinity but large terrace by riverside can be great et the summer. Pricewise slightly on a high side.

The bar was busy when we arrived with a good atmosphere. The English speaking staff made us welcome. We had some lovely beer called Fruh I hadn't tried before but really enjoyed. Sadly, we had eaten before we had arrived the food looked delicious and our mouths watered as hot dishes kept wafting delicious aroma's our way. We will definitely be coming back for a meal on our next visit.

We visited this restaurant with our parents and friends being lured by the name and the suggestion of a nice US meal. The ambient is quite nice and pretty similar to all the restaurants situated in this area. The food was okay but surely not exceptional! The prices for food and wine are pretty high (Nebraska beef 250gr 40$). IT took almost one hour until we got our ordered food. The service was very kind and courteous. Maybe worth a one time visit... This nice restaurant is nicely decorated and the food was excellent We took starters, main dishes and desert, but quite frankly 2 dishes would be largely enough.Situated near the Rhine in a semi-closed protected high end area the atmosphere was great, service very good and attentive, red Crianca Reserve very appreciative If you like a more agréable environment not to noisy, this place is a place to go and avoid the noisy central place restaurants which are full and exhausting...

Having eaten many times at NYLIG&B, today's visit was utterly disappointing. Came in late from the street and asked for 2 glasses of champagne. Was served two completely flat glasses from an odd producer (not the Taittinger listed on the menu). Asked for a burger without cheese and bacon.... The burger came - as did the cheese and bacon...!I understand a kitchen can be busy - but pls do serve a proper glass of champagne at €14 /glass.A little surprised that not even my side of coleslaw (€4) was deducted from the bill....

What a nice place, top-location and well spaced tables. Very comfortable chairs.Great wines, at decent price and a nice selection of food on the menu.We took the burgers, they were quickly served and cooked to preference. Served with fries (normal or sweet potato), ketchup, quacamole and herbbutter. Side dish was coleslaw, large quantity and not expensive, only €4.As dessert, Brownie with ice, well-made and very tasty.Besides our friends from Philadelphia, the best was our Spanish waitress. She spoke fluent Deutsch and English, understood the recipees and wines, was attentative without being too present and knew her stuff.So, great service, nice location overlooking the Rhein-river and great...
