"We had a wonderful meal to celebrate my dad's 85th birthday. The restaurant added thoughtful touches, like balloons and banners on our table, as well as a candle in the dessert! The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. A group of 56 men on a pub tour also happened to be there and sang an impromptu "Happy Birthday," which made the experience even more memorable. They didn't stay for long, allowing us to enjoy our meal, which we selected from the traditional pub menu. Overall, it was a lovely evening!"

We have ate at the old Inn on numerous occasions. The staff are really friendly and polite. Food is delicious. It was my daughters birthday and they decorated the table too which was a lovely touch.

We received a warm welcome as soon as we entered. The menu was excellent, offering a variety of choices. The food was fresh and served hot. We enjoyed it so much that we visited three times in one week!

"We’ve just come back from a two day stay here with several other families all gathered for a funeral of a well-loved aged aunt and were underwhelmed. The riverside terrace is attractive and a nice feature. The rooms were mostly ok and the...beds comfortable, though two couples were given rooms above the bar, were kept awake really late because of the noise, and had to cope with a naked drunken guest urinating against their bedroom door in the early hours. Not well- handled by the hotel. We had two large group evening meals there and were not over-impressed with the fairly traditional menu or the quality of the food: the sausage and mash for example were agreed to be be good, the lasagne and veg lasagne less so, and the baked sweet potato with hummus and rocket salad badly needed more hummus to make a proper main course. The very limited dessert menu was also a disappointment. Breakfasts though were uniformly poor tepid coffee, no cappuccinos though there’s an espresso machine there, and tepid cooked breakfasts with several items clearly cooked beforehand and then not kept hot the beans, the tomatoes, the scrambled eggs, the hash browns. The small bowls of freshly-chopped fruit were welcome though really needed a wider range of fruit than chopped apple, and there was a distinct shortage of marmalade and jam for the toast. Service was a bit scrappy and used plates were not removed from the tables and the dining room wasn’t that busy. Overall we weren’t that impressed by what’s a fairly expensive stay we won’t be hurrying back."

"Arrived on a very wet dark evening with friends.the roads to this place as are everywhere around there very difficult especially when is pitch dark and raining.Beware. The Inn itself is very cosy with a log fire and old church pew seating.The food was okay, i actually had a steak i could eat , where as in France where we used to live were none edible.Hats off to the chef.The evening was spoilt to a degree with a about 6 after work horray farmers boys with identical checked shirts and green wellies who made a conversation unaudable.We had to shout at them to pipe down.The proprioter really should keep control of these types, although he was busy behind the bar.Definately put this pub on your list if visiting the area."

"After a stressful wet camping trip at woodlands we stopped off here on our way back on the chance they could feed myself partner 2 kids and we could take our lab. We weren't disappointed. We where welcomed straight away and shown to a table. They offered our dog Oscar some treats and water. We all had a Sunday roast and it was delicious. They even brought out a little roast for our dog. Dessert was a must as home made. We wiuld highly recommended this place. Great atmosphere Great food and wonderful staff."

"This is a classic English country pub that offers delicious traditional cuisine. The friendly and attentive service enhances the experience, and the Sunday roast is a standout. It comes with a bowl of vegetables, cheesy baked cauliflower and broccoli, roast potatoes, and your choice of meat. Hooray! The chicken is served with lemon and thyme stuffing, a refreshing change from the overly strong sage and onion variety. The prices are reasonable compared to other establishments, which certainly encourages repeat visits—and we will definitely be back. Vegetarian options are available, though the pub is not wheelchair accessible due to steps leading to the restrooms."
