"I recommend the parlour tearoom! we had the afternoon for a baby shower consisting of 14 people and were assigned to the square that was perfect as we had a little private sphere, but didn't feel that we had hidden ourselves. the place was booked and a birthday party had happened at the same time, but this did not affect the service or our joy at all, as there was space for everyone and was nothing too much annoyed for the personal. the personal is beautiful and helpful from the request and booking to the event. we were allowed to decorate the corner and the table before booking, which was really helpful as it meant that we did not hurry. the ladies are attentive, welcoming and friendly. there was a lot to eat, until the point that the youngest member of the party called “more cakes?!” when we already arrived the sandwiches, crans and scorpions and the plates of the cake (which we brought to the house in party bags). will be back soon!"

I've been here a few times the food is delicious! It's very quaint cosy. Staff are friendly just a nice tea room to visit for an afternoon tea or lunch, reasonably priced too.

Just Brilliant!!!! I have visited the Parlour Tea room a few times and recently attended their medium tea and cake party. It was such a well organised event and all staff and the owners were extremely welcoming and kind. We even had a good old chin wag with the owner after the event had finished! A fantastic place and will look forward to my next visit, Thanks.

I booked a small baby shower here on Sunday when they were not open and they were so courteous! helpful, friendly and welcoming ladies in the salon teeraum! we also had an alice in the Wonderland theme and they were incredibly covered to decorate the place to our thema (as long as no holes etc. of course! and even helped us. the eating was amazing and they can say that they really loved gastgeber, as it would recommend so much detail and pretty finish touch on the afternoon tee. thank you for making my friends babyshowers perfect!

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
