Well done simple pub grub and reasonable prices. Difficult to fault

we had great hopes for the regent. it looks beautiful and has a friendly atmosphere. but unfortunately it was that eating. Sunday street was tiny and while it looked good again and, in fairness, tasted beautiful, there was not much of it and it felt more like a beginner who was not good for

The food was terrible, the service was awful, it was too loud, and it was way too expensive. The overall experience was unpleasant. We waited for over two hours for a soggy vegetable curry that was below average. I will not be coming back. There was no apology and the prices for the food and drinks were outrageously high.

The restaurant has a nice variety of comfortable seating and dining spaces. They offer a selection of local draft beers, which is always a positive sign. I dined alone during the middle of the week and enjoyed a well-cooked steak burger, salad, and a large glass of Shiraz for a total of £20. I come here a lot and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. But, on this occation we arrived and there was no table reserved (or appologie for the error) and then the service was slow and the cutlary was not brought etc. Also, the THURSDAY STEAK NIGHT shown on there website has not been on for months which we only found out after we had started a tab and had a few drinks (if we had know we would have gone elsewhere). its just a bit of a shame as i love the place and the food is/was excellent ill just put it down as a bad day....

Pleasant place for Sunday lunch. It was really near the station. Probably didn't need to book as there were a few spare tables (although we were early so it may have been busier later) The wine and beer selection was pretty decent. We chose the Roast beef. The food was great and it was a generous portion and tasty My one complaint was the amount of gravy. The entire plate was swimming in gravy and overwhelmed the flavours of the meat and veg. A little lighter on the gravy would have made this an excellent lunch We will go back, but not straightaway.

my date and I sat at our table, then a barman came by and offered to take our order, but then never came to our table again. we landed directly into the bar to place our order, which is good, but why ask them if they can take our order, but then they don't really come back to take the order my other thing was drink that there were so many people with housekeeping, it was literally like a drink in battersea dogs to house. not everyone likes dogs, so I think it's a bit unfair to exclude people from their pub because of this, and what about people who really have pet allergies. the regent is a big pub, they could easily provide a room for people without pets, which I should consider them in, we...
