"Had an amazing time at this restaurant! The vibes are laid-back, but the food is seriously on point. From starters to dessert, everything hit the spot. The staff is super chill and friendly, making you feel right at home. They've got a vast selection of dishes, and each one is like a flavor explosion. The place has a cool, relaxed atmosphere – perfect for catching up with friends or a date night. Definitely coming back for more tasty bites and good times! Vegetarian options: The variety is impressive, with options that go beyond the usual suspects. Each dish is a celebration of fresh, vibrant flavors. From hearty mains to inventive salads, they've nailed the balance of wholesome and delicious. Even if you're not a full-time veggie enthusiast, this menu will make you a believer."

"Food was just average, service is pretty much non existent. You order at the bar after reading a very informative menu with far too many things going on. Don’t ask questions at the bar as they can’t be bother answering or explaining. And when they bring you food there was no word said. Slammed the sauces caddy on the table and walked off. She probably wanted to go back to be sitting down at the table with the other waitress drinking coffee. Yes, it was visible.."

"Wonderful meal on a Saturday evening when we were staying in the area for the first time. A very welcoming atmosphere when we arrived: lots of family groups with children, all clearly enjoying their food. Service was very friendly and efficient. We shared an antipasto platter for a starter all good, and my only regret was that I hadn't ordered a plate of the arancini all to myself. For mains, we had various pasta and pizzas all very good (especially the spaghetti carbonara), and a cut above anything similar that we've had for a long time. For sweets, the tiramisu and affogato tia maria were delicious. Lovely meal, and lovely too to see an independent restaurant so busy and popular."

"A group of us convened here on a weekday lunchtime mainly for the purposes of catching up. As there weren 't too many other customers, we were largely left to chat, which was exactly what we wanted; the long-suffering waitress a paragon of patience as she returned half a dozen times to see if we 'd actually looked at the menu yet (let alone picked anything! Having finally got around to seeing what was on offer, I, somewhat unwisely, went (what was for me off piste and picked the burger (what could possibly go wrong, I wondered . What went wrong was pretty much everything. The chips were ok I suppose but the seeded brioche was mass-produced (of the type that never seems to get stale and flabby, and the burger itself would have been more useful as an ice hockey puck. I was brought up never to leave food on my plate but, sorry Mum, there 's a first time for everything and this was that time. I was not the only one amongst us to leave an uncleared plate but at least my partner 's steak sandwich was a hit, with its pink-cooked, tender, juicy meat ... I 'd pick it myself were I ever to return."

"Excellent setting, lovely clean restaurant, with friendly staff. We booked a table for 2 and had a nice table in a corner booth. It was the £19.17 set menu, which we didn't realise when we booked, but it was good value and they had a good selection of food. What we didn't realise was some of the meals had a supplement, which was on the menu but it was a bit dark and so small, we couldn't see this. So at the end of the night it wasn't really £19.17. I think if I had one complaint, this should have been explained to us when we were seated. Couldn't fault the food, it was excellent and there was a 1917 theme with a girl group singing the songs from that era, which was very good. The cocktails seemed popular. All in all good, but will take my reading glasses next time."

"Used to love the place, now I don't want to come back. The Italian girl at the bar, don't know her name looking very friendly initially, shamed her colleague in front of all customers after a mistake made with the display prices , then proceded to treat us with an attitude because we had enquired the difference in price in our receipt, took the cash to refund it from the staff's tips jar and slammed it on the counter. Had it been handled with a bit of empathy for the employee, and an apology, it would have made such a difference, also didn't like that these mistakes are paid from the staffs tips, and made us feel guilty for asking"

"Dear Ana and team We haven 't had this moment until now to thank you properly following our wedding reception at 'La Cantina Del Vino ' on Sunday 28th May. We wish to extend our thanks appreciation to the chefs who delivered on beautiful plates, all starters and mains were delicious and beautifully presented; to all the staff on the day who were very polite and welcoming, and to you and your team for preparing the set up up before arrival, it all looked fantastic. Some lovely comments from our guests: The meal at the restaurant in Marlow was excellent and we thought the restaurant staff backed up the food with wonderful welcoming service . Amazing food My Mum said she loved the music you played when all guests were settling into seats. Magnificent event in lovely cosy restaurant The love barn with delicious food Andrea 's brother Lorenzo published a complimentary review. Andrea and I would like to reflect our thanks to you and your staff for making it such a wonderful occasion for us. It was wonderful!!"

"Upon entering, it was almost as if it was a shock to see me wanting to grab a table. There was no one that came to greet at the door, instead staff were chilling near the bar and I had to go to them. No eagerness. No drive. It almost felt as if they would rather be anywhere but here... Upon being seated, I was surprised to see that the set menu for dinner was £5 more expensive on the menu than advertised outside...totally things up it did not seem to be much of a deal so we ordered the following which was brought to us with no much explanation: Starters Platter for 2 £20 rolls and calamari were nice. Mains Mama 's Food £18 Pork belly was ok I guess . The broth was delicious. Naughty Roti £16 Prawn curry was ok not amazing. Desserts We weren 't offered desserts and inspired by the staff we couldn 't be asked Drinks We only found out that there were no Vietnamese beers in stock upon ordering it would have been nice to know upon being presented with the menu. That said the Asahi beer was an expensive £6 a bottle though was served chilled and the Malbec at £7 was delicious. Overall £85 Inc sides like rice service charge (which I 'm wondering why I paid) Fair to say that I expected better from this restaurant WOULD IT KILL TO SMILE? Or communicate that you don 't have a certain beer or say what dish you have bought to the table? Maybe it 's complacently due to being the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I 'd love to see some competiton...imagine if Pham House from West Hampstead opened up here..."

"We enjoyed a fantastic family meal at this restaurant for Sunday lunch right before Christmas. The atmosphere was festive and the dining area where we were seated was beautifully decorated in traditional Christmas red and green. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was incredible! It was the best Sunday roast I've had in a long time - beautifully presented, piping hot, and with generous portions."

"We like going to the Grange . It has a very pleasant feel and setting with nice grounds and it’s always nice to arrive there. The service is always excellent. The manageress lady with dark hair) is always very friendly as are all the staff. The manageress is exceptionally good and professional and would not be out of place running front of house in a Michelin starred place. The food is much better than when it opened and pretty good. Please bring back the chicken kimchi sandwich. That was brilliant. In terms of improvement , I feel the menu could be slightly more carnivorous . After all hearing dogs are carnivores? The menu to my taste has quite a lot of vegan options and not enough meat ones. Bring back the chicken kimchi sandwich and I’ll give you a very good. But I’m quibbling."

"The Spencers Arms is a fantastic retreat for wet and cold walkers. A group of friends and I found ourselves caught in torrential rain during a country walk from Saunderton to High Wycombe yesterday. After being turned away from Hughenden Manor due to being fully booked, we made our way to Downley Common where we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and sympathetic landlord. Despite being fully booked, he made room for us to enjoy a pint, cup of hot tea, a delicious hot roast dinner, and a cozy place to sit and warm up. We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Fuller and his staff for their patience and creativity in accommodating us and our muddy boots and dripping raincoats. The Spencers Arms is a superb traditional local pub where you can always expect a warm welcome, plenty of laughter, and the opportunity to make new friends. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to pay this pub a visit. Additionally, a big congratulations to the Fullers on the arrival of their beautiful day-old baby son at The Spencers Arms."

"We’ve visited the Royal Oak several times now and have always thoroughly enjoyed what we’ve had. I always insist on the pork belly starter because it’s so good. Recently we tried the crispy squid which comes with a lovely dip quite unlike anything you’ve had with squid before. The momo dumplings are lovely and definitely worth a try. Mains have always been fabulous too, my favourite being a prawn curry (King Prawn Tawa Masala) as I’m a big fan of masala sauces which aren’t too spicy. Also tried recently was the lamb shank which was delicious (and quite substantial). There’s only a small number of tables in one end of the pub but you can sit elsewhere to have food. It’s a really small place so best to book at busy times. Our most recent visit was a Saturday lunchtime which was quiet. The staff are all lovely, it can take a little while to get your food at busy times but not so long that it ruins the experience. It’s worth waiting for!"

"Cedar Marlow really feels like a home from home. The staff always welcome you with a smile and it always feels like they are genuinely happy to see you. The food is second to none, and all the ingredients always taste fresh. They’ve recently made some updates to decor and the menu and they’ve somehow been able to elevate somewhere that was already excellent. The coffee here is easily the best in Marlow, with a taste that can only come from well sourced, freshly roasted beans. This place is always my go to in Marlow, for breakfast, lunch or a quick stop off for coffee. It’s a must if you’re ever in the area!"

"We have been visiting Bombay Palace for around 12 years and it has never failed to live up to the excellent rating I gave it back then. We have three children and, when we first visited, the youngest was 4 years old and was treated very well! I find the service level just perfect, there is always a waiter waiting for a nod of the head or a wave but never any pressure to finish and move on. The food is presented very well and is full of the flavours of different spices. There are many options including speciality dishes and the waiters are always there to give advice and appear to enjoy doing so. You would expect to pay far more for the quality of the food here, there is nothing that I can say that is negative and we will continue to visit on any special family occasion. Thank you and well done!"

"Authentic, professional and very cool. Plenty of friendly staff. Perfect coffee. Takeaway wasabi tuna ginger baguette was £6.35 but excellent so good value. Sat next to the usual ornamental stuffed bean sacks only these are imported from South America directly by Cooper's. Treated myself to a bag of Colombian Diego Samuel and Yes! It does have fun peach and pineapple notes. Sipping now and feeling like a boss! Next time I'm on the a404, I'm heading in. Clearly lots of other people have had the same idea. Find it and love it! Ps plenty of charging points, happy to let you. Only downside: there isn't one in Oxford"

"During our stay at the local Premier Inn, we were not impressed by the appearance of the Brewers Fayre restaurant. However, after a short 10-minute walk with the help of a local, we discovered a wonderful pub. It had a welcoming atmosphere and felt like a true community pub. After enjoying a drink, we informed the owner that we would like to return for dinner that evening. She promptly reserved a table for us without hesitation. We had a fantastic evening with delicious food and a selection of real ales and quality red wine. If you are searching for a great spot for food and drinks, this pub could be the perfect choice. We commend everyone involved, including the friendly clientele who added to the overall ambiance of the place."

"I took my grandchildren along for an afternoon treat. After making our choices at the window we queued to order. The assistant seemed in a sour mood with the two girls ordering before me, especially when they elected to pay separately. No smiles from me broke her stern look. I asked for four of the medium bowls, and told her the flavours. She asked about how many scoops, but she didn't want to listen to me explaining that I just wanted the medium bowl, regardless of how many scoops. I have not been in before and don't know the science of how many scoops fit a bowl. Ultimately, I was asking for more. When she finally went to get a bowl she picked the small ones. The scowl I got for correcting her, that I wanted medium, was ruthless. In response to her berating my lack of understanding I suggested she should improve her attitude, at which she decided that she no longer wanted our business. I then had to take my grandsons out explaining that they could no longer have ice cream. I do hope the owners read this. There is only so much people put up with."

"I've been extremely frustrated with the cafe scene here in the UK for a while now. Having travelled to numerous countries, I've gotten used to a high quality cafe experience, and the same ol' chocolate brownie carrot cake croissant offering of extremely limited imagination always lets me down. So this year I decided I was going to go off the beaten track and look for original, individual cafes with unique menus. Having scoured the net for suggestions, my daughter and I made our way to Pantry one Saturday morning. First impressions: small interior and a bland decor. No problem. We're here for the food. So we sat down, and were immediately disappointed upon seeing the menu. They'd removed the one thing I was really looking forward to trying, the shakshuka. And their selection of dessert was minimal (and included the drudgery of the dreaded chocolate brownie). Anyway, we ordered what was a very expensive breakfast (sourdough bread with avocados and micros more micros than anything else on the plate) and not very filling. The coffee was fairly average, wouldnt order it again. What was really good was the pear and almond cake, lovely and moist and creamy. Hence the two stars: one for the cake, and the other for a pleasant and friendly waitress. Having tried it, I wont be going back there again. I dont mind paying the high prices for food that is absolutely worth it, but not for mediocrity dressed up with micros."

"We stopped for lunch at this restaurant during our circular walk in Princes Risborough on the Mayday Bank Holiday Monday. It's not a day that the restaurant usually serves food, so we were grateful for the 3 hot main options available on the menu that day. The setting was pleasant, with friendly staff and a nice community atmosphere. However, it seemed like the landlady was cooking alone and it took a while for all of us to be served. I chose the more expensive chilli con carne, which was tasty but the portion was smaller compared to the cheaper panini options. Despite this, the meal was still enjoyable and probably better for my high cholesterol issues."
