"we have booked this online, not really know what to expect, but we were so glad we decided to eat here. South Indian food that is somewhat different, but so delicious and amazing. we went for the masala dosa to share how really wanted to try one and as they see in my pictures, it was massive and very delicious. we then went for the cure, which was suppe to then start various curries with rice and brot, then a creamy dessert that was not so sharp, but the rest of the food was amazing. it had a nice atmosphere, I am a beautiful environment with friendly staff who do not push them. definitiw one must try in the opposite and want to try South Indian food."

"Had lunch yesterday with my mum. Being local to the area, the Old Brewery, fit our lunch desires perfectly! Choosing from a wide array of menu items, I chose the beef-ale pie and it was hot, presented beautifully, and generously portioned. The atmosphere is a traditional pub, very clean, and offers a wide variety of liquid refreshments. My mum had gammon and eggs also served hot, beautifully, and with hearty portions. We will be back, and if you are looking for a solid pub experience in the Marlow area, the Old Brewery is a great choice!"

"My wife had been to tea and cake at the Grange before and found it excellent. We decided to pop in for lunch on the off chance. Booking is normally essential to ensure that you get in. The Grange is the restaurant and cafe arm of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and fronts the Southern Training Centre located in Saunderton between West Wycombe and Princes Risborough. The menu is modest, offers vegetarian and vegan options. Ingredients are excellent and of the highest quality. I opted for the fish and chips (hake, beer batter, minted peas and chips with a tartare mayo lacked bite for my taste) and the other half had the tomato and basil soup). Both were excellent. Prices are very reasonable and, of course, the profits go to the charity. The restaurant is, unsurprisingly, deaf friendly with echo eliminating ceilings and sound absorbing floors. Modern buildings and very doggy friendly. Tours of the training centre with or without cream tea are available. The decor is “rustic” and is entirely in keeping with the surroundings."

"Wonderful meal on a Saturday evening when we were staying in the area for the first time. A very welcoming atmosphere when we arrived: lots of family groups with children, all clearly enjoying their food. Service was very friendly and efficient. We shared an antipasto platter for a starter all good, and my only regret was that I hadn't ordered a plate of the arancini all to myself. For mains, we had various pasta and pizzas all very good (especially the spaghetti carbonara), and a cut above anything similar that we've had for a long time. For sweets, the tiramisu and affogato tia maria were delicious. Lovely meal, and lovely too to see an independent restaurant so busy and popular."

"First visit Marlow and to a pub for ages thanks Covid and long overdue reunion with friend of many years. Everything a welcoming pub should be, friendly staff, great service attentive but not overpowering. We had a quiet corner table near the...woodburner, where we could have a proper conversation (both hearing impaired but we were able to hear each other perfectly, often a challenge in a busy pub). Excellent vegetarian and vegan options and generous portions. The wine suggestion was spot on and they happily made a cortado on request. Looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in Marlow."

"This is a gem. A real discovery. The restaurant is located in the pleasant shopping and restaurant street in the center of Marlow. The interior is typically English in style, without being truly classic or archaic. Fairly colorfully decorated. But what matters most is the culinary pleasure. And this is really great. A beautiful and richly diversified à l carte menu, which offers something for everyone. Fish, steak, lamb, lobster, you name it. We had the salmon as a starter, others the calamari. As a main course we had the steak tartare (which is very artfully prepared at the table, highly recommended! , the salmon and then the lamb. We took the house wine, which is of course difficult to judge. The prices are more than reasonable for what you get, and certainly how it is presented. The presentation on the plate is really of a high standard. The service was very friendly and helpful without being pushy. If you want to eat in Marlow, this restaurant should definitely be on your list! If I ever come back here, they will definitely see me there again!"

"We have come here for years and it honestly just is the best. Always friendly and always good food here. I cannot recommend this place enough. Love satollo. Beautiful in the sunshine. They are so accommodating. I came here with my baby. She fell asleep whilst outside and i wanted to enjoy the sunshine (for the first time since having her) and the owner pulled the canopy out so I could sit outside. Thank you for always making us feel at home"

"An attractive spot in a lane just behind the high street. We hadn’t booked as we intended to go elsewhere but they were closed for lunch. A friendly welcome and an appealing three course lunch menu at a modest price. The daily specials proved even more attractive. Frito misto for starters proved excellent and well worth the supplement. The mixed grilled fish was even better. Excellent! Cheerful staff and a pleasing atmosphere. Will happily come here again."

"Food great but service very poor. First time visit as a couple to meet a friend and we had chosen this venue as the ambience always looks so good in passing. First minor failing, on arrival we were offered a table for 2 in the window, great but there are three of us so this was the first indication of not knowing what they were doing. Taking drinks orders took ages and then getting drinks took ages. Food took ages and although we had all food at the same time other tables did not. The food was however really good so no fault there. The bad service was just one person but all of them would just stand staring leaving people with dirty glasses, empty glasses, no drinks, empty plates etc it was all just poor. We were then charged the over the norm 12.5% service with no option to remove. Consumers should make a stand against those restaurants that automatically add service as they are not earning it and therefore don't bother making the effort."

"We enjoyed a fantastic family meal at this restaurant for Sunday lunch right before Christmas. The atmosphere was festive and the dining area where we were seated was beautifully decorated in traditional Christmas red and green. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was incredible! It was the best Sunday roast I've had in a long time - beautifully presented, piping hot, and with generous portions."

"The Spencers Arms is a fantastic retreat for wet and cold walkers. A group of friends and I found ourselves caught in torrential rain during a country walk from Saunderton to High Wycombe yesterday. After being turned away from Hughenden Manor due to being fully booked, we made our way to Downley Common where we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and sympathetic landlord. Despite being fully booked, he made room for us to enjoy a pint, cup of hot tea, a delicious hot roast dinner, and a cozy place to sit and warm up. We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Fuller and his staff for their patience and creativity in accommodating us and our muddy boots and dripping raincoats. The Spencers Arms is a superb traditional local pub where you can always expect a warm welcome, plenty of laughter, and the opportunity to make new friends. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to pay this pub a visit. Additionally, a big congratulations to the Fullers on the arrival of their beautiful day-old baby son at The Spencers Arms."

"As an Indian food lover I found the fare really excellent. This was our first visit and we just went with the set dinner for two. The lamb was delicious and the chicken tika was spot on. We had a lovely evening with friends. Further, the service was exceptional a very high standard I almost never find in the UK in any type restaurant."

"Cedar Marlow really feels like a home from home. The staff always welcome you with a smile and it always feels like they are genuinely happy to see you. The food is second to none, and all the ingredients always taste fresh. They’ve recently made some updates to decor and the menu and they’ve somehow been able to elevate somewhere that was already excellent. The coffee here is easily the best in Marlow, with a taste that can only come from well sourced, freshly roasted beans. This place is always my go to in Marlow, for breakfast, lunch or a quick stop off for coffee. It’s a must if you’re ever in the area!"

"We’ve visited the Royal Oak several times now and have always thoroughly enjoyed what we’ve had. I always insist on the pork belly starter because it’s so good. Recently we tried the crispy squid which comes with a lovely dip quite unlike anything you’ve had with squid before. The momo dumplings are lovely and definitely worth a try. Mains have always been fabulous too, my favourite being a prawn curry (King Prawn Tawa Masala) as I’m a big fan of masala sauces which aren’t too spicy. Also tried recently was the lamb shank which was delicious (and quite substantial). There’s only a small number of tables in one end of the pub but you can sit elsewhere to have food. It’s a really small place so best to book at busy times. Our most recent visit was a Saturday lunchtime which was quiet. The staff are all lovely, it can take a little while to get your food at busy times but not so long that it ruins the experience. It’s worth waiting for!"

"We have been visiting Bombay Palace for around 12 years and it has never failed to live up to the excellent rating I gave it back then. We have three children and, when we first visited, the youngest was 4 years old and was treated very well! I find the service level just perfect, there is always a waiter waiting for a nod of the head or a wave but never any pressure to finish and move on. The food is presented very well and is full of the flavours of different spices. There are many options including speciality dishes and the waiters are always there to give advice and appear to enjoy doing so. You would expect to pay far more for the quality of the food here, there is nothing that I can say that is negative and we will continue to visit on any special family occasion. Thank you and well done!"

"Arrived in Marlow to find The coach only doing breakfast at weekends so on Friday I was directed by Marlow Green to Coopers on the globe park estate, which is open on Friday. Great system, in one door out the other limited menu I am told on entry but go for the avocado and eggs but a choice still, sourwood, white or whole meal toast! Told where my coffee will appear and also my breakfast and given a “flying saucer” small disk which will light up when coffee is ready, breakfast ready and button to turn off lights. First young lady to speak with a mask on that I can hear and understand! At my table there is a sign ‘Please do not feed Cooper’ and I look for a bird in a cage or similar. Nothing. They I am aware as I read my newspaper of a small black head leaning on my table! I ask if Cooper can have small dog treats I carry with me and given the ok. Great service and great system but I guess because of location only open 3 days a week as the trading estate looks deserted and car park empty. Can’t wait for my next visit."

"It was ok, the girl serving was a bit grumps and we were only the second lot of customers inside. Only used as Costa was having a makeover but to be honest id prefer to give my money to an independent rather than a franchise but this one ill be giving a miss"

"During our stay at the local Premier Inn, we were not impressed by the appearance of the Brewers Fayre restaurant. However, after a short 10-minute walk with the help of a local, we discovered a wonderful pub. It had a welcoming atmosphere and felt like a true community pub. After enjoying a drink, we informed the owner that we would like to return for dinner that evening. She promptly reserved a table for us without hesitation. We had a fantastic evening with delicious food and a selection of real ales and quality red wine. If you are searching for a great spot for food and drinks, this pub could be the perfect choice. We commend everyone involved, including the friendly clientele who added to the overall ambiance of the place."

"I've been extremely frustrated with the cafe scene here in the UK for a while now. Having travelled to numerous countries, I've gotten used to a high quality cafe experience, and the same ol' chocolate brownie carrot cake croissant offering of extremely limited imagination always lets me down. So this year I decided I was going to go off the beaten track and look for original, individual cafes with unique menus. Having scoured the net for suggestions, my daughter and I made our way to Pantry one Saturday morning. First impressions: small interior and a bland decor. No problem. We're here for the food. So we sat down, and were immediately disappointed upon seeing the menu. They'd removed the one thing I was really looking forward to trying, the shakshuka. And their selection of dessert was minimal (and included the drudgery of the dreaded chocolate brownie). Anyway, we ordered what was a very expensive breakfast (sourdough bread with avocados and micros more micros than anything else on the plate) and not very filling. The coffee was fairly average, wouldnt order it again. What was really good was the pear and almond cake, lovely and moist and creamy. Hence the two stars: one for the cake, and the other for a pleasant and friendly waitress. Having tried it, I wont be going back there again. I dont mind paying the high prices for food that is absolutely worth it, but not for mediocrity dressed up with micros."
