"This place absolutely blows the competition out of the water. I didn’t believe the reviews before my first visit, but now I do. It’s not just somewhere to eat, it’s theatre and magic too. The welcome, the layout, the tableware, the glassware, the food, the drink, the environmental ethos, the location and the service are all 5 star. My husband is an omnivore and I am vegan and it’s hard to find somewhere we both really enjoy, but Gem 42 is one. I also don’t drink alcohol and was delighted to see that they have not 1 but 4 homemade kombuchas on offer! I love that you are asked to order in advance to reduce waste, and that their food is seasonal and a lot of it grown by them. I can’t think of anything negative to say about this place, except that I wish it was in Cardiff!"

"I went there for my birthday and was absolutely knocked away by this restaurant. If you love steak you will love the sharing 32oz trio of steaks with all the trimmings. The food was the best that I have had in Newport and well worth the visit. If your a gin fan then it's a must. They have an uncountable number of different gins that can be made to your liking."

"This was our first evening out since the first lockdown and we chose the perfect place to eat. We have dined at Villa Dino many times over the years and the food and atmosphere have always been excellent. Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, Dino and Tracy have managed to maintain a brilliant dining experience. The food and atmosphere are just as fantastic as before the pandemic. All necessary COVID-19 measures were in place, with tables spaced two meters apart, hand sanitizer provided upon entry, and staff wearing masks throughout the evening. We were able to relax on a settee before our meal and were then escorted to our table. After our meal, we had the opportunity to chat with Tracy and Dino, who always make time for their guests. Thank you both for a wonderful first night out. A photo of my main course speaks for itself - it was utterly fantastic."

"We decided to try a new restaurant tonight and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and easy-to-use app for ordering. The food arrived quickly and hot, making it one of the best takeout meals we've had. Despite frequently ordering from other curry houses in Newport, New Lahore stood out as a top contender. I ordered the Lamb Dansak, a dish I've had a hard time finding to my liking in the area, but this one was exceptional and reminded me of the authentic flavors I remember from years ago. My wife loved her chicken Korma as well. Overall, we couldn't find a single flaw in the service, delivery, or food quality. It was a truly stunning experience, and we will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you for the great meal – you're now on speed dial!"
