"It was my birthday and it was the final stop after going gaucho. Initially I wanted the lobster Spaghetti but chose the beef wellington. It was fully worth the wait and I enjoyed coming here and enjoying that wonderful meal and service yet again. I was aware of the price, but I was also fully aware of the quality of the food. That’s what counts for me."

"First class. Food and service were superb. Truly accomplished and delicious dishes. My friend, who doesn’t really care much for food, declared the honey parfait dessert to be the best thing he’d ever eaten. I had the rhubarb soufflé, the presentation of which is hilariously risqué! The rack of Dover sole was exquisite. Lots of little treats too. The sommelier was really good even though we weren’t splashing out on wine on this occasion. Her dirty dry martinis were excellent. Overall, a five-star experience. Ambience-wise, it was a bit quiet on Saturday lunch; and it is undeniably expensive. No doubt a causal connection between those two minor quibbles. However, we both agreed that it was worth it and have spent comparable sums (or more) elsewhere for far less. The team behind this restaurant are at the top of their game: they appear to love what they do; and pull out the stops to give their guests a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and kind but not intrusive. Consummate professionals."

"The original restaurant in India is the only restaurant from India which is on the list of the World Best 50 restaurants. Their London branch is not less though. Creative dishes in a fine dining style but still full of taste. We were a group of 8 and there was not a single dish that was not excellent. Decor is simple and basic. I would have given a 5 star rating if it was not for the disjointed service which started in a welcoming and efficient way but became slow and inefficient once the restaurant got busy. It was clear that they were under stuffed. What was really disappointing and gave us an indication that the restaurant doesn’t have a concept of customer service was when we asked for an ice cream that was on the set menu. The waiter was helpful; said that it should not be an issue but had to ask the manager who rejected the request and said they will only serve it had we ordered the set menu. I don’t understand why. It was just a dessert and we were going to pay for it. It is not a big issue but would have expected more of customer service and guest appreciation. I ordered a tea and they forgot about it but they included it in the bill. Need to be careful and check the bill."

"JW Steakhouse offers a lovely upscale dining atmosphere with spacious seating between tables and a nice cloakroom service a special touch. On our recent dinner visit, the food choices appealingly ranged from quality steaks to burgers to seafood. I opted for the steak with peppercorn sauce, cooked precisely to my preference of medium rare. My wife enjoyed her burger, which came with a side of sweet potato fries included in the price an unexpected bonus. Although we passed on dessert this time, the cheesecake is a must try from a previous visit a generously sized portion perfect for sharing. The only disappointment came at the start of our meal. The waiter who initially greeted us and provided his name and menus never returned. Another server, whose name we unfortunately didn't catch, ultimately waited on us instead. While polite, a smile and warmer manner would have enhanced the service. Minor issue aside, for a quality steakhouse meal in a prime location opposite Hyde Park, JW Steakhouse hits the marks. The winter lights of Winter Wonderland fairs across the street added to the experience this time of year. An onsite Starbucks inside The Grosvenor House provides a convenient option for coffee or a nightcap if desired. This restaurant deserves its positive reputation I'd gladly recommend it for fine dining in the heart of London."

"Really lovely atmosphere, cute place with friendly staff. The food was beautiful, big portions and they have a good happy hour deal on cocktails. For me and my partner the flavourings were off. The black garlic bread was very salty and our mains (both pasta) were disappointingly bland. It wasn't bad but a let down considering how nice everything else was and the price, so unfortunately we won't be going back for dinner."
