"I was worried about eating at the pub because of the bad reviews, but thought I give it a go. We ate there on the Friday and Saturday night as we were staying at the campsite and couldn’t be bothered to cook ourselves. The staff were very friendly and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Sadly the food lets it down. My son had the steak both nights and complained that the chips weren’t cooked enough both times, the steak was nice on the Friday but not so good on the Saturday. I had fish and chips on the Friday, which was ok, I had the lamb on the Saturday which was just alright . My other son had the burger which he said the cheese wasn’t very nice. My wife had the tartlet which was burnt around the edges and tasteless. I liked the campsite, but I won’t be rushing back to eat at the pub."

Really Lovely pub. Great food and great location. Was in a group of four and we all had different meals including the oven pizza which was a favourite.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub has lots of character and history. The food was freshly prepared and lamb shanks were excellent. The price was average for pub food.

Due to the current situation, I had booked a table but as the weather was warm enough, despite it being October(! , we were able to sit outside, right by the river which was very nice. I didn't catch the name of the lady who served us but she was very nice and very attentive. We didn't have to wait long either. All in all, a very positive and pleasurable experience and I would definitely return. I have eaten at Ye Olde Swan before prior to Covid 19 and was pleased to see that, despite having to cope with all the restrictions and requirements upon the hospitality industry, they still offer excellent food and service in a beautiful setting.
