"Sunday lunch, this place was packed and no wonder , as soon a a table emptied it was filled . We had to wait 5 mins for our table , shock horror, absolutely no need for the apologies from the staff . Your greeting was warm and friendly and it was crazy busy. The place was buzzing with a fantastic atmosphere, lots of different tables. Chicken satay my wife loved , served in a coconut shell, different. Tomato soup was so thick and tasty .The roast beef was pink and perfect, it melted in the mouth best beef I’ve had for a long time. The lamb portion was large and tasty. Tried to work out what the sweetness in the gravy was , it was delicious. We didn’t have to wait long for our orders to be taken or our food delivered.if I had one criticism it would be . No there is none . Great place , great food, great staff. Thank you"

"My husband and I have been regular visitors to this restaurant over the years and never had anything to complain about, so when my husband booked for my Birthday with my family (6 adults and 2 children) we were all really looking forward to a lovely Sunday late lunch/early dinner. Our table was booked for 4.30 and we all arrived on time and were shown to our table straight away. We all ordered pre dinner drinks whilst choosing from the Sunday menu. All of our starters were lovely, including the prawn cocktail and the soup, however unfortunately we cannot say the same for the mains.....3 x beef, which of the two slices were fatty and rather tough, the roast potatoes were very very hard and tough and very difficult to cut through, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and really quite inedible and the gravy, already on the plate, was very thin and watery. My husband had the lamb shoulder which was extremely dry. Vegetables were served to the table and consisted of carrots, parsnips and large slices of onion and swede mash, not a green vegetable in sight. We also had a bottle of wine which we continued to pour ourselves throughout our meal.......in the 'old days ' the wine was always poured for us! It was plain to see when we were 'finished ' eating our meals that there was so much left on our plates as not one of us enjoyed the dinner at all and it was all very dissapointing, hence we all turned down the offer of dessert, although my grandson ordered the kids brownie and ice cream which he enjoyed! Overall our visit was really really disappointing and sorry to say we left the restaurant all saying the same.....we will not be visiting again soon!"

"Best Sunday lunch I've eaten. The beef was so tender and cooked to perfection. The roast potatoes, gravy, yorkshire pudding, veggies, all cooked beautifully. Portion sizes are very good too. The prawn and crab starter, delicious. The pudding, vanilla ice cream and a chocolate brownie was perfect. Superb service too and even though I only mention in passing it was a birthday meal for my friend they served some chocolates at the end with Happy Birthday on the plate too. Brilliant, thank you."

"I popped in for a leisurely drink part way through a bike ride. The barmaid, Paula, could not have been more accommodating. I enjoyed a super service. I'm a real ale fan and was served locally produced ale. A great experience from start to finish.
