"Wir sind nach einer Wanderung nahe Sonthofen ganz zufällig im Hirsch gelandet. Die Sonne hat gescheint wodurch wir einen Platz im freien genießen konnten. Der Service hat uns sofort einen Schirm aufgemacht, damit unsere kleine Tochter nicht in der prallen Sonne sitzen musste.Die Kellnerin hat uns sofort gesagt, dass das Essen etwas länger dauern könnte, da im inneren des Restaurants gerade eine Reisegruppe angekommen wäre, die zuerst "durchgeschleust" werden muss.Das Bier schmeckte hervorragend, sodass uns die Wartezeit nicht so lang vorkam. Zum Essen hatten wir Schweinebraten und Schnitzel bestellt. Beide Gerichte sehr lecker obwohl das Schnitzel nochmal eine Spur besser war - beim Braten leider keine Kruste dabei, was ja schon ein kleines Highlight beim Schweinebraten ist. Nachdem es aber auch nicht als Krustenbraten deklariert wurde, war die Enttäuschung nicht allzu groß.Mein Fazit: Sollten wir nochmal nach Sonthofen kommen, werden wir erneut einkehren. Vielen Dank"

"the bambus is also offering Chinese and Vietnamese specialties in addition to Thai specialties! we love eating asian and are therefore very happy to come in bambus. all the dishes there is also to take away, which is why we also take home the food from time to time. it always tastes super delicious! you don't have to wait long for eating and the portions are so big that you get really fed. the personal is friendly and the menu is diverse. especially we like to eat the crispy duck with curry and vegetables (number 52 and 75! for me as a sushi lover, it would still be the crowning if the bambus would also offer sushi, as otherwise there is nowhere in the city of the city."

"My wife and I have visited this wonderful Restaurant many times over the past 20 years. We have never been disappointed and can recommend Poseidon to everybody. You enter the restaurant to be met by an ambience one has come to expect in greek restaurants outside Greece. We actually go there to eat the food not to criticise or pick fault at the interior decoration, or sit there bemoaning the fact we are sitting in southern Bavaria and not on a greek island. More often than not the boss herself welcomes you with a warm, friendly smile. No fast food here. You have more than enough time to choose from the excellent selection of greek specialities, and in the 20 years we have been going there the menu card itself has always been clean. I have lost count the number of times we have been greeted with a glass of ouzo at the countless greek taverna we have had the joy to eat at on so many greek islands. I would say we asked maybe half the times if we wanted it with ice or not. Half the times it just came and we drank the free drink in the Spirit it was given. The waiters and waitresses at POSEIDON have always been curteous and friendly, and any questions about the menu are always answered and special wishes catered for. Today, 22.12.2013, we ordered the warm anti pasti platter. The portion was generous, they always are at Poseidon, the food well presented on the plate and it was piping hot. The domades, baked giant beans, etc. tasted as good as ANY we have eaten in Greece itself. Having visited various greek islands over the past 25 years we do have a bit of knowledge in this respect. The warm starters were delicious, and the bread served with it was fresh, warm and tasty. We ordered the fried fish platter as our main course. As we know, from coming here often, the food is prepared to order. Having actually been in the kitchen, which one does when in Greece, the fish is first fried when ordered. In other restaurants in Sonthofen the fish is already battered and fried and is put back into the deep-fat frier just before serving ! Not at Poseidon. The fish was wonderful, the gratin potatoes were done to perfection, and the tangy dip was just the way I remember it being served on Patmos in 1989 ! The main course too was served piping hot, which is the way we like it. Infact, having eaten too many fried fish platter to remember at tavernas across Greece, the platter served at Poseidon is on a par. Indeed when I tucked in to the main course I was transported to a fantastic island-hopping,back-pack holiday I had six wonderful months long in 1992.During our meal - which lasted 90 minutes in all - we were served by both waiters and the boss herself. A request for another portion of the excellent gratin potatoes was met, and wasn`t charged extra either ! When I asked why not the boss said she was happy we had enjoyed the food. I have never been able to get original greek coffee at any greek restaurant I have been to in Germany, so we always order a Cappuccino. We will definitely be visiting Poseidon in Sonthofen again, and again. We can highly recommend it to anyone wanting excellent food. If you want REAL greek food served by greek waiter with REAL greek ambience then I suggest booking a flight to one of the many islands or the mainland. If you are in Germany`s southern most town, and don`t fancy a long flight plus transfers there and back, then I recommend Sonthofen`s legendary, and best, greek restaurant."

"Ich kenne nur das Restaurant, nicht die Hotelzimmer! Auf der Terasse lässt sichs gut aushalten, sehr hübsche Bepflanzung mit tollem Blick über den Marienplatz. Die Küche ist spitze! Nicht nur eine grosse Auswahl, sondern auch grosse Portionen bei fairen Preisen! Auch Senioren- und Kinderteller in der Auswahl und vor allem auch viele leckere vegetarische Gerichte. Alles sehr liebevoll arrangiert und mit viel Phantasie gekocht. Vermute, dass sogar die Pasta selbst hergestellt wurde! Sowohl traditionelle Gerichte wie z. B. Krustenbraten, als auch eigene, aussergewöhnliche Kreatiinen. Fisch und Geflügel gibts auch! Ausserdem eine Wochen-und eine Monats-Speisekarte! Für Abwechslung ist also gesorgt! Und auch gute (Eis) Desserts. Mein Highlight: Berliner Weisse! Die finde ich in Süddeutschland kaum noch auf der Getränkekarte! Ohnehin gute Auswahl an Bieren! Danke, dafür und den netten Service, sowohl tags als auch abends! Walkability: Zentral gelegen Food drinks: Grosse Auswahl, faire Preise"

"Not even a year since the opening, only 12 weeks in Tripadvisor and already voted the best restaurant in Sonthofen. Astounding that so many people all at once decided to give Yamas 5 points! The food is excellent; this lady knows how to cook. She manages to give the original greek dishes her special touch and they really do taste much better than many standard versions. Even the simply grilled meat dishes are absolutely perfectly prepared. This location was, for a long time, the very good german restaurant Germania. They closed and a couple of others tried their luck unsuccessfully. In the meantime after stages of renovation, Yamas looks really fine, bright and clean. Parking is a problem, but the Sonthofen underground car park is only a couple of hundred meters away. Well worth a try. Better to reserve a table and even if you have to wait a while when the kitchen is overwhelmed, its worth it. We have visited Yamas probably 5 or six times and the food was always well above average."
