"I hosted 30 colleagues at this restaurant. Pre-arranged everything with the team before we arrived. The menu was really good. Very diverse with absolute attention to detail used towards the crafting of the dishes! I really recommend this place to everyone visiting Aberdeen so long as you like Indian cuisine of course.I shall return next time I am in town."

"I’ve been here a few times and I have to say each and every time has been just as good as the time before. The bao buns are out of this world deliciousness, the first will have you begging for more, complete with a topping of your choice. I ordered round two, they were so moreish. Those Katsu dusted halloumi fries are the game changer, never share!! Everyone needs a whole side of their own, wow!! Then those fries with toppings are made for sharing, what a pile. The chicken wings, banging!!! Winner winner all round dinner. The Gyozas were very very tasty, we asked for duck and got vegan by mistake, I wasn’t even disappointed, it was amazing. The drinks and service were just on the same level as the food. Lovely and welcoming. The ambience with the lights and music just sets a very laid back and chilled vibe. Loved it, would and have recommended to so many, book a table because it gets very busy you don’t want to miss that."

"Situated in a fairly unique area of Aberdeen minutes walk from Union Street but at the same time quieter and residential, it was when visiting a relative I happened upon Cognito and stopped in for lunch. While in theory a ‘coffee shop’, I think that rather undersells the appeal of the place. While the hot drinks are there, it also offers a fine selection of bakes and cakes, ice cream (including a dog friendly one! and hot snacks. I went with the standard ham and cheese panini, which was lovely. The place is definitely quirky, it has a nail salon inside it, with limited seating inside but a nice looking outside patio (how often that gets used in Aberdeen I don’t know with racks of cards on sale. The girl who served was lovely, and not in a fakey customer service way, just genuinely nice, doubling up my side of crisps when I asked for no salad. All in Cognito is a lovely little cafe. I’m not in Aberdeen enough to know if it’s worth going out of your way for, but if nearby it’s def worth a visit!"

"The restaurant is not as Irish as it used to be. Previously, you could purchase bottles of Irish sauces and other items to take home. When I visited today, there were more TV screens than customers, and the loud football game playing made the small space feel crowded. I ordered fish and chips, but the fish was small and the "chips" were actually fries that were undercooked. However, given the £6.99 lunch price, my expectations were not high. Despite the issues, I still finished my meal, which included a drink. It was not busy on Easter Monday at lunchtime. It seems to be more popular on Saint Patrick's Day, as the Irish are often associated with drinking (not necessarily a negative thing). I would appreciate it if the restaurant played some pleasant Irish background music."

"At first glance, the restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside, and you might be forgiven for thinking it appears a bit, well, shabby. But don’t let appearances fool you. Gurkha Chef has a lot of rustic charm and serves some truly amazing food. I started with the classic Nepalese dish, Momo, which are meat-filled steamed dumplings. It’s fair to say Nepali cuisine bears some Chinese influences, and these dumplings reminded me of those I’ve had in Chinese restaurants. But the difference here was their enormous size. After tackling four gigantic dumplings, served with a flavorful chutney sauce, I was surprisingly almost full. They were incredibly succulent and generously filled—definitely a delight! For my main course, I faced a tough choice between Nepalese-style curries, primarily featuring lamb, and tandoori dishes. Not in the mood for a sauce, I opted for the grilled Chicken Tikka Kalimiri, which turned out to be excellent. It featured a double skewer of juicy chicken marinated in spiced yogurt and black pepper, accompanied by mint chutney, pilau rice, potatoes, peas, sauce, and salad. I must say, my meal was enormous. I paid less than £4 for my starter and under £10 for my main, and I honestly expected there to be some sort of catch. Not only was the food outstanding, but even I—a self-proclaimed foodie—struggled to finish it all. (Of course, I did manage to finish my meal, but it was quite a challenge.) The Nepalese are known to be some of the friendliest people in the world, and their hospitality truly stood out during my visit. I can easily see Gurkha Chef becoming a top favorite of mine during my visits to the North-East."

"What a nice experience tonight! Unfortunately I am away for work during valentines day. Oblivious until I realised that would mean me dining alone on a celebrated night for couples. AWKWARD! Put on my big girl pants and headed to the closest Pizza express (club app is awesome- lots of discounts if you are a fan) because its a easy favourite. Had a laugh with the staff regarding my table for 1 situation. Food perfect- classic pizza express quality. Service was great and attentive and everything as needed, with all requests met with happiness. Asked for a takeaway dessert as Its nice to have a sneaky treat before bed.... but mid snack I realised this was the note the server gave me..... how lovely. We had a giggle on my awkward dining experience, we talked about how being women it's always difficult being out dining alone. But this blew me away! So Niesa (hope this is the right name) thank you for supporting the lady on table 27 at approx 8pm. You are wonderful, thoughtful and a great champion of the pizza express brand! Hope they reward you well for the exceptional service. Happy valentines day!"

"Went in for food a few drinks on Saturday night for the work's night out but ended up staying later than planned as DJ was banging atmosphere amazing. Didn't have to wait long for a drink at the bar despite how busy it was. Food on offer was mostly your typical pub grub so something for everyone, prices were very reasonable for being in the city centre. Will definitely be making Slains a regular pitstop for further work dos, great night had by all! "

"I went with my Italian woman to ciao napoli to lunch in the last summer. the food was excellent and the service was also excellent. I want to go back. I was very surprised by the restaurant, it was my first time there. it is very atmospheric in an old building in a small room with beautiful old wood panel. it reminded me of the old town in edinburgh. a hidden gem in gray granite of the godless."

"To be honest, this is the fastest restaurant owner I've ever seen. I went there with my two friends, the waiter wanted to lead us to one of the empty tables. but the owner has always told us. (do u have reservations, although the tables were mostly empty. unfurtunetly, it seems that he doesn't look like our or race. we left the restaurant in peace then called to ask their number for the reopening and the one who answered us, there is no need for reservation we have empty table! real scandal. we went to another restaurant."

"I consider myself an expert when it comes to seafood, having been raised on it. I know the difference between good and badly prepared fish, and I can confidently say that the fish at this restaurant is the best I have ever had. Their batter tastes clean and is unmatched by any other chip shop in the city. The service was excellent and the staff was very polite. I want to give a special shout out to Nancy, who served me. "We thought we would go for a bite to eat. We didn't want the carvery so we asked if we could have a sandwich? We waited for at least 3/4hr for the sandwiches!! I wish i took a picture? They were just 2 slces of bread with salad on the side. I had cheese with onion marmalade. My husband had chicken with ham?? We paid £18.80p for this crap. The bread was thin sliced normal bread, i had brown he had white. The salad was some lettuce, a bit of tomato and cucumber. We won't be back that's for sure. We have never had such horrible food in a very long time. The staff were lovely just the food was awful."

"Booked pre theatre dinner and it was far too busy for the poor waiting staff to cope. No time to get our dessert. Waited 45 mins for main course. Asked for no bacon in Caesar salad and it arrived with lettuce, bacon and chicken with dressing. Very expensive for a bowl of lettuce and couldn’t eat the bacon. Partner had fish and no complaints there. Didn’t complain to the poor waitress as it wasn’t her fault at all. Poor management and squeezing in far too many tables before theatre. We did get an apology but I’m sure every table got that. Wouldn’t put me off going again just not for a pre theatre dinner as they are full to capacity."

"I'll never get tired of cafe andaluz. I've visited 3 of her filials in the last few years and never had a single problem. the selection of food is fantastic with so many different tapas combinations that match most needs. the personal is friendly and the restaurant has such a beautiful ambiente. I would definitely recommend and hope to return very soon."

"Had to stay at the hotel, due to a canceled flight. Went to the bar for a quick beer so I thought but I encountered a decent offer of whisky behind the bar. So I started asking the bartender about it, and he just took me to the whisky cage, and my lord, what an amazing offer! Old bottlings, some collectibles, and great standard drama. Callum knows its whiskies and overall behaved like and world class Bartender. Always watching for me and making sure my glass was topped up, always giving great suggestions followed by a good chat and attention to detail, not just with me but with all guests in the room. Even when speeding, he made it look like he smooth service. Very much appreciated for his hospitality and the whole hotel staff in general. Highly recommend. Thank you Callum!"

"Worst breakfast ever from the menu. Ordered all day breakfast at 11.30 as buffet breakfast was finished. Breakfast served was cold, bacon undercooked sausage undercooked. Food obviously leftover from buffet. Not freshly cooked. Asked staff member to take it back as was cold. They kindly did this and returned with hot breakfast only thing was could not get knife through the sausage or black pudding or hash brown as had been microwaved too long. Won't be eating here again. Although staff were very understanding and we did get a free coffee for our troubles. Chef should be ashamed of themselves as let the team down thinking it was OK to serve such a terrible plate of food at a cost of around 10 pounds each."

"I’ve been here a few times and the service is dropping each time. The front of staff are really letting this place down as the food is always perfect and the coffee is great, however waiting staff are abrupt and to the point they make...you feel you’re not wanted or it’s a hassle to ask them for a napkin. We had to ask several times for basic things like cutlery, napkins, salt and each time met with abrupt yes or nod as they walked right past or we were met with “in a minute”. I asked if I could have 1 cappuccino from one lady as she was passing and was advised someone else will take my order. I then had to wait 20mins for someone else to come up with an iPad and to tell them it’s just 1 cappuccino please, to the point the man went oh… ok. It was actually embarrassing the way they spoke to not just ourselves but every customer in the Pier, really poor and everyone seemed to be spoken to with the same abruptness or experience lack of service. 3 front of staff for the amount of covers is more than enough to provide great and friendly service. It’s the lack of service skills, communication and coordination between the waiting staff and some general politeness to be honest."
