"This is a great restaurant tucked away by the western side of the church, just across the river. It has ample outdoor seating, in a beautiful setting with tables set into a gardens worth of plants, all resting in the shadows of the church. The beer here is great. I strongly suggest the strong beer and Dunkel. If you get the strong beer it comes in an awesome mug, which you can by for 5 euro. The food is varied, not monster portions, but delicious and well plated. We all ate off each others plates and the venison, pork medallions, and pork shoulder are all great. Mine seemed a little dry, but there was ample beer sauce on my plate and when I ran the meat through it it made a perfect bite. You may not easily find this one, but it's worth the hunt. And they have English menus available if requested."

"Discovered this by chance.....their potato soup was awesome (not the creamy type we are accustomed to but full of slivered potatoes rather than chunks, and flavored with onions and bacon). My husband said his burger was one of the best he's had since we moved...here. We were pleasantly surprised to see on the menu that they offer an American breakfast including fried eggs (kind of a novelty in this region). It has several types of seating including couches with chandeliers overhead for a relaxed coffee/dessert atmosphere as opposed to typical sit-down to the table kind of fares. We will definitely go back, although I think they are only open for breakfast and lunch. Such an array of fine bakery offerings that it would make a great option for take-out to business meetings"

"I've read a lot of reviews about Mongolian grill and a great choice of everything. Maybe due to the fact that we went there for lunch and not dinner, maybe something else but the food choice was actually very limited. Just several sushi and some...food. In terms of desserts there was just one cake and that's it. Not counting some fruits like pineapple, apple, banana.. Service is good, they're polite and friendly. I was in another Chinese buffet in Amberg recently and they have greater variety of food, at least for lunch"

"Ganz ehrlich? Wir waren nur zufällig dort.Da man auch schon von Bekannten mündliche Rezensionen erfahren hat,wollten wir uns auch mal niederlassen. Ganz im allgemeinen jetzt gesagt, und nicht direkt ...wo ist die Freundlichkeit von früher? Das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein...als Freund empfangen zu werden...als Freund verabschiedet zu werden?...so war man das gewöhnt, wenn man ein griechisches Restaurant betreten hat. Das vermisse ich schon lange... Wie gesagt, es geht hier nicht speziell nur um dieses Restaurant... Es ist halt ein üblicher Grieche mit den bekannten Gerichten... Aber es fehlt einfach die Hauptzutat: Herzlichkeit... Ansonsten war das Essen dementsprechend, Ambiente ohne gewohnte griechische Musik, Service bemüht...schade eigentlich...die üblichen Fotos der bestellten Gerichte erspare ich hier mal, da nix herrausstechendes dabei war. Wir werden weiter suchen nach den gewohnten Gewohnheiten"

"Wir kommen hier stets gerne zum Essen. Der Service ist super, das Personal -egal ob Bedienung oder der Chef persönlich- stets sehr freundlich (auch bei vollem Lokal, in Stresssituationen) und am wichtigsten das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Egal ob Pizza, Pasta, Fisch oder Tagesgerichte wie Rumpsteak, Meeresfrüchte und Co., zum aussetzen hatten wir nie etwas. Die Preise sind ebenfalls sehr fair bemessen und die Gerichte sehr schnell am Tisch."

"We've been with a big group of around 25 people to the restaurant. We reserved the table at around 9pm and asked before if they still serve food. Once we arrived they told us to prefer right away - before even some have been seated - because the kitchen was closing at 9pm. The service was more quick n dirty then a real service, I wonder why they even offer tables at 9pm if they don't like to serve that late"Anyways, the food was good - real Bavarian food, everyone was more then pleased."

"Ten of us as a family on Boxing Day. First shift (from 11:15 , the staff was a little relaxed. The drinks are top notch, brewery : Lemonade, cola, spritzer, beer all good. The food: The dishes were at the right intervals, the soups and side salads were really good. In particular the salads were much better than last time. They were really fun, from the cucumber to the steamed carrot, the cabbage to the mixed green salad with radicchio. Vegetarian and omnivorous main courses came afterwards. I tried cordon bleu (excellent!! , pepper steak and pork fillet Försterin with spaetzle. Everything was very well seasoned and the degree of doneness of the steak was exactly right. The cordon bleu was very buttery and crispy. Lots of flavor. The pork fillet forester with fresh mushrooms: a dream. Really good food. Due to the shift work, there was no time left for dessert, not even coffee, despite the attentive service. I understand that the restaurant should be at maximum capacity to make a profit. And the timing 11:15/13:00 also makes sense. Nevertheless, it's just tight for three courses. Two goes well, three will be tight. I will come again!"

"Wir waren übers Wochenende in Amberg und sind zufällig am Lui vorbeigekommen.Das Restaurant ist uns durch sein stylisches Ambiente aufgefallen. Sehr ausgefallene Location Der Empfang und der Service waren extrem freundlich. Das Essen kam sehr schnell und war wirklich sehr lecker. Auch Vegetarier haben hier eine angenehme Auswahl an Gerichten. Absolut empfehlenswert. Sollten wir mal wieder in Amberg sind, werden wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen"

"Was soll ich sagen, ein guter Italiener ist das für mich nicht. Nachdem mein Sohn immer da Ju-Jutsu Training hat sind wir immer mal da. Jetzt haben wir eine Bestellung für einen Geburtstag aufgegeben. Abholen mussten wir selber, seltsam! Alle Pizzen und Pastas äußerst mittelmäßig. Bei der Bestellung wurde noch gefragt, frutti di mare mit Tomaten-oder Weißweinsauce, wir nahmen Weißwein, so schlechte Frutti di mare habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gegessen. Da ich Nudel Liebhaber bin, glaube ich gut beurteilen zu können, aber diese: Weißweinsauce keine enthalten, Nudeln nur ölig und völlig geschmacklos und trocken, Muscheln sehr klein und der Rest ein wenig Tintenfisch, alles lieblos ohne Geschmack. Tortellini nicht viel besser und Pizzen, Mittelklasse. Bin leider sehr enttäuscht und werde meine Mitnehmnudeln wieder beim Pizzahäuschen kaufen, die sind einfach klasse, und das für ein Nicht Italiener."

"in the old kaserne there is a mix of Greek and Italian cuisine. the Greek dishes village plate and house plate are good and plentiful. at the Italian dressed the pizzas are good. I'd take off the lasgne at the barley dishes. that is tastefully good but from the portion too small. the salads are ok. if a bit more is going on you have to adjust for longer waiting times. prices for eating are in order. the drinks too expensive.If you cannot choose between Greek and Italian cuisine, you will surely find a tasty food here."

"after my (very positive) first impression I visited the mango masala a second time. I was there under the week and decided (again) for the buffet. But this time I was horrified how bad the buffet was. the mushroom soup tasted fad and watery. there were four curry varieties to choose from, which all tasted fad and un seasoned. the worst: usually Indian currys are ally, or pale. However, this was not the case with these. They were totally watery and had more the resistance of a frying sauce or a suppe. I had the impression that the currys were stretched with plenty of water to save costs. therefore the fade and unworn taste also explained. I was so upset that I let him fall out of the table. because the friendly service did not help much. I will not come here anymore and visit the shiva palace or the royal india next time, which cook much better."
