"We have been talking about going to The Peacock for a long time, so looking for somewhere different for my partners birthday. I decided to book a table, and while on the website saw that we could stay overnight and that dogs are welcome! On line booking was very easy, and following instruction from the booking confirmation, I rang to double check there was room in the dog friendly area of the restaurant. Once confirmed, I was reassured that even though my dog is a giant breed, that we would be very welcome. On arrival Jack, the General Manager, greeted us and showed us to our garden room. Lovely modern, clean, bright bedroom with en-suite. A good range of tea, coffee and biscuits were also available. We sat in the garden in the sunshine, and again the warmth and friendliness from both Jack and his Team was exceptional. For Dinner, we chose to experience the Tasting Menu. It was such an amazing experience. We were genuinely blown away. Each next dish we declared as our favourite. The produce was fresh and local, and cooked to perfection. We were given an over view of each dish before we ate, which we loved. At the end of our meal, the Chef came to our table to ask our opinions on the menu, we really felt that he, and all the team, genuinely wanted us to enjoy our experience. The whole Team were also very laid back with our dog, even as he relaxed and spread out a little too much! We enjoyed a good nights sleep and then went for a walk over the bridge opposite and up the winding lane. We bought eggs and honey from a stall outside a farm house! We returned and then enjoyed a very tasty breakfast, again with all local produce. We will definitely come back, and recommend to friends. We are already planning our next visit!"

"Stopped off here last Sunday 3rd November after asking locals for a good pub for Sunday lunch. It did not disappoint. Dennis and his son run the Inn and it's very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a choice of beef, beef pork or local chicken for Sunday lunch. We tried the beef, it was excellent. Served with mashed roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, peas and runner beans, all freshly cooked. The Yorkshire Pudding had a lovely bit of stuffing and sweet roast turnip in it, nice touch. Gravy horseradish sauce too, all for £10 or about £6 for kids. A nice selection of puddings and ales too. A bar drink, Sunday lunch main, pudding and a coffee is great value at around £20 per head, even more so considering it's fresh. I'm told the produce is local as much as possible. There is a weekday menu (not served on Sundays) and it had a wide variety of pub favourites. Dennis the landlord was very hospitable and has from conversation spent many years making this a welcoming pub for food, functions such as weddings and it has a lovely enclosed garden which is safe for children and has lots of toys. They've made a lovely extension with lantern roof windows for dining in the winter and the interior has been tastefully redecorated throughout. The pub was warm and cosy on a winter's day and not at all crowded. I was on a rare visit to Suffolk and this was one of those lovely rare finds of a pub to stumble upon. Stop for Sunday lunch, you won't be disappointed."
